Quote:
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. ? Rush Limbaugh was arrested Friday on prescription drug charges, law enforcement officials said.
Limbaugh turned himself in to authorities on a warrant issued by the state attorney's office, said agency spokeswoman Teri Barbera.
The conservative radio commentator came into the jail at about 4 p.m. with his attorney Roy Black and was released an hour later on $3,000 bail, Barbera said.
The warrant was for fraud to conceal information to obtain a prescription, Barbera said.
Man he got a sweet deal.

You children can't find anything else to do with your time except find bullshit news reports about tossed cases from 3 years ago? Here's a hint: Find your penis (it's between your legs where they join), touch it, touch it some more. Keep touching it until it squirts. Rub the issue on your head, it prevents baldness.

He pled NG and there was a settlement made whereby he continued to do what he has done for some time and paid a token fee so that the prosecutor could save a little face. Read the Drudge link

Settlement Agreement Ends State Investigation of Rush Limbaugh Fri Apr 28 2006 18:59:55 ET
Palm Beach, FL ? April 28, 2006 ? In response to media and other inquiries, Roy Black, Rush Limbaugh?s attorney, released the following statement today concerning a settlement agreement with the Palm Beach County State Attorney?s Office to end the investigation of Mr. Limbaugh:
"I am pleased to announce that the State Attorney?s Office and Mr. Limbaugh have reached an agreement whereby a single count charge of doctor shopping filed today by the State Attorney will be dismissed in 18 months. As a primary condition of the dismissal, Mr. Limbaugh must continue to seek treatment from the doctor he has seen for the past two and one half years. This is the same doctor under whose care Mr. Limbaugh has remained free of his addiction without relapse.
?Mr. Limbaugh and I have maintained from the start that there was no doctor shopping, and we continue to hold this position. Accordingly, we filed today with the Court a plea of ?Not Guilty? to the charge filed by the State.
?As part of this agreement, Mr. Limbaugh also has agreed to make a $30,000 payment to the State of Florida to defray the public cost of the investigation.?The agreement also provides that he must refrain from violating the law during this 18 months, must pay $30 per month for the cost of ?supervision? and comply with other similar provisions of the agreement.
? ?Mr. Limbaugh had intended to remain in treatment. Thus, we believe the outcome for him personally will be much as if he had fought the charge and won.?
The actions taken today are as follows:
The State Attorney has filed a single charge of doctor shopping with the Court. The charge is being held in abeyance under the terms of an agreement between the State and Mr. Limbaugh.
Mr. Limbaugh has filed a plea of ?Not Guilty? with the Court.
The formal agreement between Mr. Limbaugh and the State Attorney will be filed with the Court on Monday. The terms of the agreement are substantively as follows:
? Mr. Limbaugh will continue in treatment with the doctor he has seen for the past two and one half years.
? After Mr. Limbaugh completes an additional 18 months of treatment, the State Attorney has agreed to drop the charge.
? Mr. Limbaugh has agreed to make a $30,000 payment to the State of Florida to defray the public cost of the investigation. Settlement Agreement Ends State Investigation of Rush Limbaugh Fri Apr 28 2006 18:59:55 ET

I would like to point out that Mr. Limbaugh stated he was unable to fight in Vietnam due to an "anal cyst".
I will skip the medical jargon.
Basically he sat on his fat ass all day everyday talking instead of fighting.
True story.
The most macho warhawks including Cheney and Bush found a reason to not go to Vietnam while ardently supporting the cause and deriding those who were honest about their reasons for not fighitng and paid the price openly for avoiding that unjust war.
They are all armchair cowards.
Small wonder they are pro-Iraq war today sitting comfortably all day with their anal cysts.
Only in America.

Conservatives in America have all sorts of neat secrets like this. Like Bill O'Reilly lodging a vibrator up his asshole while having phone sex with another woman. And William Bennett writing books about how you should live your life as Jesus did while he illegally gambles. The amount of semen Sean Hannity takes to the chin every week still has yet to come to light, but I expect it very shortly.

Rush seems to take issue with illegal drug use for recreational purposes. He has no problem with legal recreational drug use (booze and cigars}. I think that's foolish right there, but no more than anybody else who supports drug prohibition, which is most of the people. His painkiller addiction is something else entirely. People who think this is bullshit need some serious pain in their lives. Serious chronic, unfixable pain. Debilitating pain. Can't sleep for months pain.
In your blind hatred of Limbaugh you seem to have overlooked the just what it was the prosecutor has done in snatching his medical records. Very questionable invasion of privacy. And none of us likes that, do we?
What he was charged with is, if I understand correctly, a scheme to get several doctors to prescribe the same medication in greater amounts than they normally would. Unfortunately for the prosecution, this did not go well and all they managed to do was force a man to make public his addiction to prescribed pain medication. The most laughable part of this is the $30,000 fee he has to pay to "cover the cost of the investigation." This jackass DA has probably spent over a million taxpayer dollars for the sole purpose of embarassing a

You don't think people have fucked up brain chemistry's where they self medicate? Not all pain is physical, and mental pain hurts just as much sometimes. (I could bring up the parallels between the body's response to physical pain and panic attacks, but I don't feel like writing an essay. There isn't even a strict boundry between mental and physical pain- which is why some people with chronic pain have good response to meds like antidepressants that have no direct pain killing properties.)
When I was abusing painkillers, I was in so much mental agony it was basically blow my brains out or take some pills. I seriously felt like I had no other choice. I was seeing an incompentant doctor and running out of options. So I forged a scrip. I wasn't even seeking any kind of high, just some kind of relief.
So please, spare me that chronic pain bullshit. I would have traded almost any physical pain for what I went through when I was locked up for a couple days before I could post bail. I felt like I was sufocating.
Ever hear of drugs in development called Substance P inhibitors? They are basically antidepressants aimed at the brain's opioid system. Some doctors finally have the courage to admit that the brain's endogenous endorphins and enkaphalins can be screwed just as other neurotransmitters important to mood. (For those that don't believe me, take some Naltrexone for a few days and get back to me.)
All I'm saying is that no one should be prosectuted for what they put into their bodies.

Seriously, fuck you. Take some Naltrexone for a week and see how you feel. I can send you some if you like. Let me induce chemical dysphoria in you please. Your pulse will rise, your body will release epinephrine and cortisol and other steroids almost exactly like you were in physical pain.
I'm not talking about normal everyday mental depression. I had some bad acid trips that were a resort vacation compared to that shit. (And no it wasn't just withdrawal which I had prior experience with.)

I can't even tell what kind of point your trying to make. Except the point that you are deeply immersed in a prescription drug stupor to such an extent that you think all pain is due to some kind of mental defect. I have a proposal for an experiment. Take a needle. Take your finger. Push the needle into your finger. Tell me if it hurts. If it doesn't, you have a defect. If it does you are normally responding to a pain inducing stimulus.
Watch your mouth Bub. This aint OTD.

Wheres the compassion? He needs rehab........??
What a paradox, I remember when I used to listen and believe what this guy had to say........
-------------------- “I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”
