graft to big?

Just wondering if anyone knows if a scion could get too large for its graft stock?

If you know i hope you would let me know eather way :wink:

sure, if you use a thin rootstock like pereskiopsis thats going to happen soon. another problem is that they start to look swollen and unnatural as they grow big, after a few years on pedro/cereoids...

Yeah the stock is seedling Trichocerus pinky thick three inches tall. The scions are now two inchs across with strech marks up the sides. I wouldnt mind regrafting to even larger stock, just for curisities sake.

Some one said that if you degraft that they will root and resume looking more natural after some time. I wouldnt mind juicing them up untill the size of my fist, if thats possible. Then degrafting and planting as specimens.

Whats your thoughts Felix?

i'm not sure about they looking natural after degrafting, never had a first or second hand experience like that...
the size of the fist is good but i think you'll still need a lot of those.
why don't you wait until they reach the size you want and then degraft? i'm doing like this over here...
i hope they'll look better on their own roots.
