:( I fucked up...

About 10 days ago I sterilized and inoculated 6 1/2 pint jars of a grain/verm substrate. No growth. No contams, nor mycellium. Weeeeell, I did not see any indication on the guides of how far to fill the water level (uh oh) and i filled the water just below the lid seals. I had meticulously pressed foil over the lids to prevent water from seeping in, but to no avail. The jars got soaked and I figured it would simply increase chance of contam. 2 days after inoculation I inoculated 3 successful (not water logged) jars. One of the three has been removed from the running due to a nasty infection. The other 8 appear sterile. Even the last 2 have no sign of mycellium after 8 days.
What does a water logged cake cause?? What should I do with these 6 wet jars? The liquid at the bottom appears milky grain white, but may have begun to creep up the sides. It is hard to say for sure. It could simply be the liquid settling. But is it possible that the spore sollution seeped to the bottom and mixed with the liquid and is now growing of this liquid, however slowly? I am quite positive what I am seeing is not contam- very confident that it is not.
The last two cakes however... is it possible that growth has been stunted from using too little sollution? It is hard to control the amount dispensed at times.
I have also considered that the spores are dead, however i recieved them and kept them out of sunlight, and the jars were sufficiently cool at inoculation. The supplier is Sporelab.com, which a friend recommended after successful growths from the companys sollution.
Any help would be very greatly appreciated, thanks folks

My room stays at about 75 degrees most of the time, and the jars are up in my closet which i figured to be the warmest spot. I didn't think a 5 degree difference would make a substantial difference, especially seeing my friends success at this time at only 70 degrees or cooler.
Anyone else???

Okay. but I would like anyone who knows, to tell me WHY. Why is excess water leaking in through the holes bad? I have found numerous instructions to not get the cakes wet, but none say why this is a problem. I have seen multiple pictures on the internet of people growing mycellium IN water in jars, so I am very curious as to what the problem with excess moisture is.

LC = liquid cultures are differnt. your myc grows right in the water feeding of the dextros or honey or karo you put in it.
as for jars any standing water will drownd the myc. mor like it will never gorw there. also it will get wet spot.(bacterial contamination)
