Should I have cold shocked?

I birthed 2 PF-style cakes (BRF + verm) and put them in a small terrarium which I am circulating with air a few times a day and exposing to light for at least 15 mins a day. I see rhizomorphs growing out at places on both the cakes and I am wondering if pinning is soon to come. Also, I did not cold shock the cakes. I took them from the dark box they colonized in and put them straight into a terarrium of the same temperature. (Room temp ~= 74 F) Should I have cold shocked?

Sounds like you will see some pinning soon. What is the humidity in your fruiting chamber ?

I am yet to get a hygrometer but the saran wrap on top of chamber is a bit misty....I put a moist perlite layer on the bottom with moist vermiculite between the cakes and perlite.

Did your cakes get all bumpy (hyphal knots) also? Mine sure did....but I didn't get pins until today, day 12 in 90% humidity at 74 degrees. Mine are B+, and they have not been fast. Don't panic like I did, OK? These little guys will do it when they are ready to, it's up to you to be patient(which is hard to learn). Just hold on, it'll happen soon!

Sounds like we'll have a wild dining experience, nobody. I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it.
