So, I bought a 5 lbs. bag of Hpoo. When I opened the box there was a 10 lbs. Awesome! But I only had spawn enough for 5 lbs. So the extra 5 lbs. sat for a few weeks. Check out these pics. Mushrooms had pinned in the bag. They are all over the bag. Maybe different kinds. One spot even looks like cubes! There not though.
Edit: Now, that's easier to look at.

Those are VERY common to find in piles of horse poo, I believe their called inky caps (probably another name too). Was that pasteuized or prepastuized? Pasteurization after removing the mushroom chunks might make it usable still.

I found some of those in a bag from Mike that I had stored for 6 months .
I picked em out , spawned it and had a great pin set and harvest . Never really saw them again .
If you've got the extra spawn , give it a whirl . What have you got to lose . Mike will still probably send you another bag
He's a great guy! He makes my life a lot easier

Coprinus are common and considered a "contaminant" of compost, they probably wont effect anything, but you may propagate them, and regardless even one inky cap is Stealing Nutes. Not to speak for him, but I think he will probably replace it.

I'm not at all looking for a replacement. I only ordered a 5 lb bag in the first place and got 10 lbs. I figure it can be sterilized in jars like grain for small casings. We'll see.

At this point sterilization in jars would be easier than pasteurization. I don't see the difference as long you treat it with the respect due to sterilized substrate. Besides, the inky caps survived pasteurization the first time.
