Thanks to Shroomindole for helpful info, the camera has a zoom but could not figure it out, was friends. It is not very nice to call people noobs guys, however this is the internet, and I guess that should be expected. However I hoped for a higher class of internet individual here, perhaps I was wrong. I read the F.a.q., which shouldn't be so hardly put title wise for NOOBS...I do not care if they are active as you say, I find Mushrooms, and fungus really cool. I think they are fascinating, and very cool to just look at. The ones I found were after my psych final today, as I was walking out. They were everywhere, I did not pick many. It was in the area between sidewalk, and road that little grassy area. I seem to have trouble finding a comprehensive book on Mushrooms, and the ones I bought aren't very accurate. I seem to find Mushrooms, that fit the book species really close, then upon further inspection they have 1 little difference, that makes all the difference in the world. However the book stops there. So I thought this was a active community, so I would start here. Also humans/men do not like reading rules, manuals, or guides. We usually throw them away, which would probably go double for someone at a SHROOM site, for going against societys norms, or the rules, so please forgive me if the first thing I did at a shroom site was not read the rules. Kinda funny to me, but to all of the l33t non-noobs here that is probably just as funny, in any case I did real well on my final, and found some shrooms how did your day go; well I hope. Thanks again....dole like.

I'm going to respond to your post in no particular order at all:

As much as I hate to admit it, it seems normal to not read the rules. I just wish more people did for 2 reasons. It took about 2 hours of busting my ass + countless other people's hours to write those rules. In addition, the rules provide links to almost every question you could have about finding actives in your area.

Calling people n00bs is part of internet message boards. We're (at least me) are trying to make an effort to be nicer to newbies on the boards. Everyone has to get a start somewhere, even if they break the rules at first, right? I totally agree with your view point that people who join a drug related website are not inclined to read the rules... It only seems natural, right? Laws are rules and most people who join a drug related website don't agree with the laws, so why read the rules?

I'm glad to hear that you are interested in mushrooms on whole, not just stuff that will get you "fucked up." I love seeing people like that on the hunting forums.

As far as a comprehensive book on mushrooms goes, check out David Arora's Mushrooms Demysitified. It is by far the best book for IDing any mushrooms in America. It doesn't include ALL actives, but it is the best book by far(IMHO).

Although your post didn't seem to have one particular point, but rather several main points,I enjoyed it.

Rock on dude, hope hunting goes well for you. Don't forget that mushrooms are decilious as well as active.

I know that you werent referring to me but just for the record it wasnt me that might of referred to anyone negatively on the ID request......
http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat...rue#Post5563532
nor would I ever call anyone a noob when it comes to plant, mushroom, etc. identifications or anything else......got to always consider ourselves newbies if you want to keep progreessing....never know....that person your talkin to sometimes might not know a thing (yet) about some freakin mushroom he found.....but could know enough about the sciences surrounding that mushroom (or anything else) to spin your head......which could possibly take you YEARS! (believe it or not) of learning to attain her (or his) level in certain areas.....NEVER know who your talkin to !

no probs Scorp.....now go find some more shrimmies

oh ya cant agree more as Gumby stated ......it is by far the best book in the world for identifying mushrooms......anyone who speaks english in the world (now pretty much everone) hunts with this book in their hand......MUSHROOMS DEMYSTIFIED......nuf said

EDIT: and just for reference your shrooms ARE Agrocybe pediades think I left the specific out and as mentioned too dangerous to mess around but a perfect mushroom to get to know for starters cause extremely common at times and EXTREMELY variable in habitat occurence and widespread.....

thanks, I found a couple others, this week however I believe I know what they are. I find that seeing them first you get a general Idea which is usually wrong upon looking closer at the subject. This I think is, because I have yet to have any formal education in Mycology, I am just a nub in that area. I think I know a bit more then the average person though, enough to make me want to know a lot more. Soon as I get some spare money I will get that book.
