If you had a poor turnout and were about to harvest a couple to a few plants, which would you do?
my buddy wants to try get a taste of the O, but he isn't sure if it would be better to make a small batch of Tea, or Lance the pod and and injest the Latex after collected. One of his pods is very big and about to burst. He is wanting to lance it, but not if he can get more bang for the buck if drying and brewing some Tea.
Since it will be a small amount either way, he may hold on to it until next year when he gets a bigger harvest.

Easy one! Pick them and make tea.
Lancing poppies is an art, a skill which you can only learn when doing it. This will inevitably lead to losses (cutting too deep, getting drips etc and with a small harvest you don't want to do that.

I have to agree with W_S. Can't argue with that logic. If you have a small amount, why risk(hardly a risk...more like guarantee) decreasing that amount further?

Thanks guys, maybe next year we can try out some lancing.
It looks interesting. I would like to someday smoke some as well.
Also, what is the best way to dry them? Not many talk about that. I guess it doesn't matter much.
I was thinking of drying them much like my mj plants- cut and hang upside down with a soft breeze in the room for about 24 hours.

They hold A LOT of water. I tried that^^^ and a few got moldy, so i used a food dehydrator without problems.
