These things keep on growing

I Have a tropical vivarium and about a month ago i saw some little shroom caps growing out of the ground there was about 8-9 of them and I was like. hmm thats strange, but Instead of picking it out I let it grow then they got really quite large, probably two inches tall and around an inch wide at the cap, the stem was quite thin, thinner than a pencil but not as thin as a toothpick. Then the next day it withered and died, this repeated several times and there are currently no full grown shrooms in my frogs vivarium however there are a few of them which are around a quarter inch high. I picked one out of the ground and then i accidently broke it and when it broke there was some sort of strange goo that came out and little tendrils that wiggled and squirmed.. Is this a mushroom or just some kinda freakin weird bacteria monster?
I can get a picture of the small ones but I dont have any pictures of the large ones if anyone wants it

Try to get a picture. You say the caps withered and died and that you found some black goo. Sounds like some kind of Coprinus to me.

keep in mind its only about a quarter inch high the ones that are dead now were about 2 inches tall and the stalks barely got much thicker than that

haha they're growing in one of the more dry areas of the frogs vivarium probably due to the 90 percent humidity i try to keep my frogs vivarium at.

ok so we're going to assume maggots are bad and im going to also assume that whatever these may be even without the maggots they wouldnt be somethign I'd want to eat? Im kinda imagining anything that would spontaneously grow in a tropical 90 humidy 88 degree tank is probably not something i wanna eat?

one thing I noticed was that I had put earthworms in side of my viv a few days back and one died the next day there was the same white stuff that was in the mushrooms on the glass between the substrate and the glass it was white and kinda fluffy but then I sprayed the tank down and it got all sticky lookin there were hundreds of teeny little tentacle type things spreadying and then the next day there were even more mushrooms and the stuff was all gone is that anything or do i just have some sort of psycho fungus thing goin on ?

Do the tenticals actually move? It sounds like mycelium to me... Mycelium is kind of like the "roots" of mushrooms and can grow all over the place. If it's not mycelium, maybe you've got some kind of crazy tropical worms.
From the picture, I have no clue what that mushroom is. If you can get a spore print that might help. Do the mushrooms ever take on a yellowish hue?
What kind of frogs are you keeping? Dendrobates?

yea, its like, they actually move. they dont look like worms or anything like that, they're just sort of like a spiderweb of white moving things. If it was worms they'd all be seperate but they are all conjoined. I'll make a spore print when one of them gets a little larger I think, because at this size I dont think I could do it. They look kinda brown at times and then other times they are more yellow
yes they are dendrobates auratus, a blue morph.

also i've noticed that they tend to grow where the sphagnum moss is. Im sure none of this has anything to do with what kind of shroom it is but i donno if certain mushrooms have a tendency to grow on moss.

P.S. I cut a second mushroom in half and it had no white tentacle puss stuff inside of it so im thinking that it had some bacteria growing in it from the decayed earthworms. Im making a spore print but I donno if the small shroom is going to have many spores in it?

Just to clarify, bacteria are microscopic, so you wouldn't see them moving. It's entirely possibly you have some weird species of worm or other parasite that is attacking the mushrooms and/or dead worm.
If they are worms, there is a possiblity that they are actualy the larval stage of some kind of insect. I'd imgaine if this is the case, once the "worms" metamorphasize into their adult form, your dendrobates are eating them. Do your frogs seem fatter and happier than normal?

Are you talking about a worm that made its way into the mushrooms or what? Any ways its still awsome how mushrooms started to grow in your frog tank.
