http://tinyurl.com/kyun8 Anyone else heard or had visions of this or anything. I don't know much about the subject but someone on another forum mentioned it could be the wormwood mentioned in the Bible? I don't take this to seriously but i have felt for a long time that there will be big events good/bad? in the near future i don't know, but big events for sure. Peace

This site has a good follow up:
http://skyandtelescope.com/observing/objects/comets/article_1704_1.asp
But yeah, i've been closely following this subject and i find it interesting and frightening at the same time. That damn rock is tearing apart and starting to look like a train, or like a worm ...
Only time will tell, but identifying 60+ objects closing to earth is a hard task, therefore some final trajectories will only be known relatively late.

All of the observed fragments in 2006 will pass relatively close to the Earth during the interval May 12 through May 28 but none will pass closer than 5.5 million miles.

"This is a rare opportunity to watch a comet in its death throes?from very close range," says Don Yeomans, head of NASA's Near Earth Object Program at JPL.
There's no danger of a collision. "Goodness, no," says Yeomans. "The closest fragment will be about six million miles away--or twenty-five times farther than the Moon." That's close without actually being scary.

I appreciate the scientific analysis, but the thrill is this disruption event happening in real time, real close to earth. I'm not saying i believe some piece will hit us, but it's intriguing the dynamics of such events, i mean, many variables can change while this convoy approaches earth.
Meanwhile, and regarding the prophetic aspect of this topic, you can read this interesting analysis : http://www.barry.warmkessel.com/barry/2000PPaper.html

besides suess if it was going to hit no one really has anyway to stop it these days, and Its obvious they would lie for "national security" reasons.

so many people are jumping on doomsday theories!
planet-x was supposed to shift the poles several years ago.... that was the only theory I worried about, and it passed without incident.

sometimes I wish it would hurry up and happen just so they would shut up
interesting topic though

Looks like it's happening ... http://www.northernstar.com.au/localnews...condsubsection=
Some other news say it's probably some space junk orbiting our planet, mostly because the green color is associated with some metals, but on the other hand ...
Colors of meteors <The color of a meteor is an indication of its composition and the excitation temperature: sodium atoms give an orange-yellow light, iron atoms a yellow light, magnesium a blue-green light, calcium atoms may add a violet hue, while silicon atoms and molecules of atmospheric nitrogen give a red light.>
<report on observations made of comet 73P's component 'B' using the Gemini-N telescope> <No distinct emission peaks arising from crystalline silicates were observed in either spectra, and the observed spectral-energy distribution can be modelled by an admixture of amorphous olivine and amorphous pyroxene grains.>
Olivine From Wikipedia <The mineral olivine is a magnesium iron silicate with the formula (Mg,Fe)2SiO4 in which the ratio of magnesium and iron varies between the two endmembers of the series: forsterite (Mg-rich) and fayalite (Fe-rich).>
Pyroxene From Wikipedia <Pyroxenes have the general formula XY(Si,Al)2O6 (where X represents calcium, sodium, iron+2 and magnesium and more rarely zinc, manganese and lithium and Y represents ions of smaller size, such as chromium, aluminium, iron+3, magnesium, manganese, scandium, titanium, vanadium and even iron+2).>
... and btw, the mother of all sites regarding the 25th

Well, I'll tell ONE person about this...and if it happends then I'll know i'm "on to somthing"...otherwise this is all hearsay from another's story...another's reality. . .
EDIT: I just remembered that the 25th on my calendar at work says "asention day"...wierd and creepy. Perhaps the author knew and planned this? Hmmm...*furrous eyebrows*...methinks this COULD happen if enough people belived in it happening...(for some odd reason)

"I have received information psychically, which is corroborated by scientific data, according to which on May 25, 2006 a giant tsunami will occur in the Atlantic Ocean, brought about by the impact of a comet fragment which will provoke the eruption of under-sea volcanoes. Waves up to 200 m high will reach coastlines located above and below the Tropic of Cancer. However, all of the countries bordering the Atlantic will be affected to greater or lesser destructive and deadly levels. This site is dedicated to life, to civic responsibility and to information. There is still time to save lives. Thanks for participating in the world-wide alert!" -- Eric Julien
Wow, looks like I only have a few days left to live. I happen to live on an island in the Atlantic ocean. Call me a skeptic, but I think I will trust the scientists at NASA over the scientists in Eric Julien's mind. Although I typically don't gamble, I'm gonna bet my life on this one and not do a damn thing to avoid being at sea level on the Atlantic ocean this/next week. Anybody want to offer me $10,000 if I live?
I would love to see the scientific data which corroborates his psychic information.
Quote:
The huge fireball that swooped across the sky about 6.20pm on Tuesday was actually a refrigeratorsized hunk of comet, astronomer Andre Claydon said yesterday.
The Earth is passing through debris left by Comet 73P/Schwassmann-Wachmann which has broken up into about 64 pieces, said the director of observation at the Springbrook Observatory near the Gold Coast.
I assume he means debris left by the comment from previous orbits around the sun. With the comet fragments that just broke apart being nearly 6 million miles away, the earth would be more likely to smash into the moon (which is much, much closer) than one of the 64 comet pieces (during this encounter; who knows what future orbits will cross)
