Thanks
Yeah, the best part is hunting. "You shot 1200 lbs of meat, but you can only carry 100 lbs back to the wagon." That always pissed me off. Drive the fucking wagon TO THE MEAT.

I guess it wasn't really a game. The teacher would give you a book of codes to enter and the turtle would draw different shapes, this was years before oregon trail. How do you play that file with the emulator, do you have to first burn the bin files to a cd as an image?

Nah, the emulator plays the bin's (theres 2 of them) -- I couldn't believe that it said to "Flip disk over" in the middle of the game I haven't seen that message in ages.
Install the emulator, and it will recognize the bins as being associated with AppleWin. It should, anyway..

I remember that game from school! We used to play it on the apples. I always got kicked off the computer before I was finished though.

Most definitely. This was my first "formal" introduction to the computer as well. I still have a printout from early elementary school of a pattern I created in Turtle.

Great game. At my elementary school, we actually had a rip-off of that where you were a black slave trying to escape your landowners. You would have to hide in trees, and cover your trail with pepper to ward off the dogs. I completely forgot about that game until now.

Okay, I just spent the last hour trying to find more information on the game with no luck. Anyone good at looking things up? Some tidbits I remember are getting cheese from an old man, looking for moss on the trees to see which direction you are going, using pepper to ward off dogs, and sleeping in caves. I think it is done in "real-time" if that helps.

Has tons of old games, you could look around there. I would suggest the Strategy games section because that's where Oregon Trail is...
