People who talk about moving to Holland or Canada - Do they?

I sometimes see posts here about people who want to move to Holland (usually Amsterdam) or Canada. Are there any people who have actually made the trip? And if so, how did it work out for you? Or are the people who make these posts just impulsive posting pansies?

No.
No one has ever moved to either one of those places.

probably not many. of course we (americans) all think it would be cool to smoke weed in the streets and all, but i would never leave my life in the states just to go smoke weed more easily, not worth it.

Good stuff. I live in Canada, and.. why would someone leave their life/family/friends to live where you can sometimes get off of a marijuana charge? Just smoke privately and you're fine anywhere. Jeez.
Stoners get the strangest ideas.

Actually I have mentioned a plan to move to Canada before on the forums and I am in the midst of making it happen, working with immigration to get my Visa squared away, moving to Seattle in October to facilitate border crossings for job searching (easier to get a Visa if you get a job offer). And have already applied to an been accepted to the college I want to attend up there, and they keep records for 2 years so it will still be in the system when I am eligible for college (if you go on a work Visa you can't go to school for 9 months, then once you get landed immigrancy you can attend school). I just finished phlebotomy school so I bring an medical field career to the table in my application process. And I regularly read an Immigration Weekly Newsletter pertaining to Canada, Britain, Australia, and New Zealand.
Moving from one country to another is not easy, and alot of people shoot off at the mouth making it seem as though they intend to follow through. But I would say the majority do not. Just starting the process has caused a couple of headaches. But in the end it is not because of wishing for more lax herb laws, I am moving due to a basic and integral dissatisfaction I have with the fundamentals of this country. I just fit better in Canada than I do in the United States, every visit to British Columbia has been like a fresh breath of home sweet home.

Nice to see that some people follow through on their idea, keep us updated
btw, I'm not saying that anyone should move out of the US, but I'm just asking if people who said they would or wanted to go actually did, and how the experience was.
