Hello :) Tripping in the wild...

I am planning my first trip (a few months from now), and the set & setting should be perfect! I will have an experienced tripper with me, and we will be camping.
However, this is at a national park. I was wondering if they do any sort of checks at national parks when you enter?
Thanks all!

It probably depends on the national park, if I were you I would research the particular national park, and find out.

If you're asking about them searching you, I wouldn't anticipate them doing that...but that's just a guess, they might. A lot of parks don't allow alcohol, but I've never heard of anyone getting searched.
Check out the website for it or something, or just test the waters one day and see if anyone asks to look through your bag.
Most likely you'll be absolutely fine. I've tripped in the wilderness before and as long as you don't look overtly suspicious, keep to yourself and don't cause a disturbance of any kind, no one will have any second thoughts.
Have a great time

Anything in nature on shrooms is like 4 nude beaches with 500 hawt secluded chicks who all want a piece and their society consists of no men and shacks full of narcotics that are legal in their area just like san pedro is for native americans' omg!

I think that would be just as painful for the rangers as it would be for the backpackers. Stuffsacks all over the place, gear all unstuffed...what a nightmare! You'd have to give them reeeaaal good reason to do it, and you'd probably have to actually try. You don't have to take your gear into the permit office. I'm not even sure why you'd want to. Keep it in the trunk 'til you get to the trailhead. Chances are the ranger will never see the inside or outside of your pack at all.
It's possible you might get a visit at your campsite, though! If you wait until after dark you should be fine. If you want to trip in the daytime AND know the area AND are comfortable with being lost in the woods, you might find a nice rock with a view off-trail and park yourself there for the next 6-8 hours.
Have fun, don't fall into any grand canyons or anything.

Heh, well we'll be in the cross country areas so it should be pretty secluded. We will probably just eat them in the tent and then walk from there. Shouldn't draw too much attention to ourselves, i think.
And thanks for cooling my nerves about being searched. I figured there wouldn't be much trouble, but i really had no idea.

You're good to go. If the rangers come visit you there, it's as a search-and-rescue team.

Of course take safety precautions and ensure no existing or seriously dangerous possibilities can occur, be wary and vigilant of surroundings before hand; check out the area, double check, tripple check, and for the sake of reassurance check a fourth time incase a hullcination changes the area indefinently causing you to not know whats really there/existing, other than safety measures and state of man have fun and enjoy the trip.
You should inscribe your presence to someone just so they know where to look if you wind up missing or gone for a certain period in time or so you know where a ranger/help is when needed, and it could help your trip by knowing theres help if something does happen, but also knowing a ranger knows your loc is another reason that a bad trip is possible, lol just dont worry and remember better safe than sorry or even worse the possibility of acheiving the state of dead. Yeah you dont want that...i'm sure!

Use general camping caution as well. Bring a small pack with some basic essentials isnt a bad idea. flash light, water, maybe a little snack for the come down/walk back. I just did my first outdoor trip this past weekend. Went on a easy hiking trail with my girlfriend and just walked for like 3 hours tripping. Even happened across a park ranger while we were stopped at a fork in the path to have a drink of water from my hydration pack. Just nodded to him said something to the extent of "Hey there" and he didnt think twice. Also not a bad idea to wear sunglasses of some sort just incase you do encounter people they cant see your enormous pupils or odd glances. Other than that, outdoors are AMAZING. I loved staring at the ground as I walked and seeing the leaves pulse and turn white as they guided us down the trail. Happy camping and good trips!

Make sure to not have any hesistance about meeting park rangers and be prepared to nod and say hi if you do. No one ever knows your tripping unless you give them a VERY good reason to. Be cool and enjoy. I second bringing water and some snacks.

Should be a memorable experience, National Parks are usually beautiful without the use of hallucinogens:D
