Anybody in North Carolina find anything yet? It has been raining quite a bit for a while and pretty warm, the humidity has been up also. Just checking if anyone from my state has got lucky yet.

tons of shrooms, but haven't found any actives of any kind. I imagine that subbs are out in force if you know where to look. The morel season seems to have ended for us too.

hey X......the kill avatar
just wanted to mention that I dont know how many times we found our selves sayin on the war path for Morels.....dang.....this looks like the worse season ever.....then move down the road apiece.....and BAM ! ......could be the best year ever!
and ever once in awhile you come across those years when you cant help tripping over em in abundance wherever you go (far and in between cept for certain parts of country)
AS long as weather is favorable your season hasn't even reached full swing yet.....and expect(look for) several flushes sometimes from the same patches.....and these can be weeks apart even tho no REAL follow up significant rainfall after first flush....as Morels can take up to a month! from pin to harvest.....follow up surveillance.

Thanks for the tip shroomin. This is my first season actively hunting morels so I'm glad for the words of experience. With all this rain that NC has been having I'll keep tromping through the woods. Although I went yesterday and ended up with about 20 ticks on me and no morels. However I did find a marasimus that was so tiny that it was simply amazing.

I spend hours looking in fields down in the queen city area and the only mushrooms I have found were growing in my front yard. still trying to figure out what they are.
