Use dry vermic. to fill up a jar cap. Set the cake on it, then put another thinner dry layer on top. You can also roll in dry vermic. while you are at it. Then you want to feed the vermic. water--with a syringe, dropper, whatever. What all this does is feed the cake water to promote better pinning. If you roll the cake, just spray it with a water bottle. Like I said, this is all to get better and bigger flushes. Once you see pins, cease the water. I hope that helps.

it acts like a pseudo case in that it provides a bit of a water reservoir for your 90% water mushrooms.

He's saying case it in dry verm, then make it damp with a syringe. The dry verm sticks to the cake easier than the pre-damp verm does in my experience.
