I want a lime tree too!
    #5555161 - 04/25/06 02:49 PM (17 years, 9 months ago)

I was at this persons house today and they have a lime tree. A big ole lime tree in a bay window. They have pictures of it covered in limes and they said it grows limes every year.

I didnt know you could grow citrus fruits inside with nothing but window light.

It was really cool. Does anyone know where I can buy a live lime tree?

They are very well suited indoors. I have two types of lemon, a couple Clementine, a Buddhas hand, and a Key lime. The important thing to do is buy Organic fruit. The seeds are mostly viable and grow-able.

They are trainable and they love shitty dirt. They can take a dry spell too.

So would it make sense to buy the keylime instead of big? These people had full size limes on there tree.

I think I would probably rather have the lemon tree.

So just buy some lemons and grow the seeds huh?

Yeah its a no brainier as long as they are organic you wont be waisting your time.
Use what ever you would prefer to have.

Just so you know some species take a good amount of years before they are sexually mature.

OK just to screw with you some more i think limes fruit early compared to Clementine's and oranges.

Why i think that because my lime thats only two feet tall had a fruit last year.

I say start some seeds for the hell of it, if you find a larger plant for sale pick it up if you wish. I always say the more the merrier, They do make great house plants if you have decent light.

Find a garden center, that carries miniature trees, such as bonsai,
they have smaller lemon, limes trees usually.
Here in Dallas, there's a place called Sunshine Miniature trees. miniature treesl
