Please help me identify this contam (pic)

This is a standard brf+verm jar It smellt foul when I birthed it, and didn't fruited (of course...)

It spread quite like mycelia (I could compare it to the other jars which were good, and fruited well)

So what do you think it is?

If it had a bad smell AND spred like mycelia, it could be more than one contaminant at work. If you could post a clearer picture that might help.

it is probably mycelium competing with a bacterial contaminant.

Yes, actually this is a drinking glass. Inthis country, we don't have half pint jars, only bigger, so we usually use glasses...

By the way, the "best" picture I could make:

if you use a drinking glass without a screwable lid, you are pretty much asking for contams

Maybe... I'm not an expert, but the taped tin(?) foil is said to be quite as good as the lid... And the innoculation is easier, because you don't have to make holes in the lid... The needle goes through the foil, and then a second layer sterilized foil is put on it, and taped on it...
