I don't understand a ton about the internet and how it works, but I do know a lot about its history. And there are a ton of people that really understand it. It it becomes unsatisfactory, I think they will create a new internet.

And a special cheers to any one that remembers bulletin boards.

Or something in the free distribution school of thought, maybe not necesserily BBS, but like it. I mean we have pirate radio, pirate tv...can they really control everything? I think not, and only because technology is as advanced as we are, and the corporations only own shit after we have been using it a while. Those guys are a little slow, it takes them a minute to figure out how they will profit off of something. Then we have to move on. As long as people have been figuring out how to overcharge for bullshit, other people have been figuring out how to get it for free.

Have faith in the geeks...they, er we, whatever know a lot of shit all together.

I gaurentee that anyone who has any intellegence or respect for intellegence would definately not allow this to happen.

I guess congress doesn't think the internets been commercialized enough yet.

The internet is, despite what you might think, exceedingly vulnerable. It would take relatively little to essentially destroy the freedom it enjoys. It will only survive if people fight for it, and it seems that not enough people will.
