Melbourne Season 2006 Findings

Hey i was out catchin tadpoles n frogs with a couple of mates(Stoned by the way) and came across some mushies...ive been looking right into them for a year now..This is the first time ive spotted them in the wild...I think ive found active ones but if anyone could give there opinion that would be great

I dont want to be the bringer of bad news but i highly doubt they are active.. they have no blue in them and the caps are a different shade of gold to what im used to. I am no expert but i do know gold-tops very well.. i have 200 sitting next to me right now anyway i wouldn't go taking them any time soon, they look very similar to active gold-tops but i would get better advice before you go taking chances.. you can try www.erowid.org if you like, i find it to be quite reliable

Yeah they are quite weird. If they had bruised blue i would have said they are P. Subaeruginosa but i cant see blue in any of your photos. Some of them have bruised a reddish colour which makes me think stropharia aurantiaca, which grows in the exact same habitat but even then im not sure.
Consider them to be poisonous until someone can give you a proper ID.
Edit: To me they also have some traits of deadly galerina's. Stay away from them for the time being.

yeah i realised they werent bruised blue.but i knew they were close to gold tops...im slowly gettin the hang of it lol...reddish bruise no good then? will i find active gold tops inthe same place...coz it is OH so close to my house lol...

Those are common woodloving mushooms - maybe hypholoma or something along those lines - look similar to subs but if they dont stain blue they aint...
