TheWay said: my girlfriend and I walked out of lost in translation after like 30 min.. It was so f-in boring, the only good part was the shot of that girl's booty in the beginning. I don't think Ive ever walked out of a movie before that, and Ive seen 'teen-wolf' in the theater
I thought Lost in Translation was pretty cool. Sure, there are no car chases and it is kind of low-key, but it was cool. Now, speaking of Bill Murray, I was surprised how much I didn't like Broken Flowers. TheWay, my friend, you do not know boring. Broken Flowers is a whole lot of nothing. I just don't feel like it was time well spent.
As for Crash, that movie was amazing. I've seen "politically correct" (a decidedly 90's expression) tripe that goes on about how racism is bad and can't we all get along and so forth, but dammit, I though Crash was one of the most intellectually honest and mature films about race I have ever seen. It doesn't condemn racism so much as explore its many different manifestations. And I've been around much racism in my time. I have been subject to it and admittedly I have dished it out at times. Everyone does. I'm from a place where the school system is still pretty much segregated (there WAS one (1) black kid in the county schools, but I'm sure he's graduated by now). I went to the city schools. Believe me, I know racism. Crash is pretty accurate as per my experience.
I am so disappointed no one mentioned House of the Dead. I haven't even seen it; it's just notoriously bad. It is an injustice to the word bad. Or so I've heard. Is it necessary to see a film in order to make such judgements? Perhaps. But c'mon, you can pick up the stench of that movie a mile away. Anyone here seen it?

You know you watch the Mystery Science Theater episode when they make fun of that movie; and because of MST I have to disagree.
Of course I know I watched the MST3K'd version. I know this by virtue of the fact that it was me watching it.
I don't think I could've tolerated more than the opening "credits" were there not people poking fun at it.
Lookit, the thing was filmed with a camera that could only take 30 seconds of video at a time. They had no way to record audio, so the voices had to be dubbed in later, which is why most of the voices sound like the same person. Torgo has huge fucking thighs for NO APPARENT REASON!!! And, to top it all off, nothing ever actually happens.
Seriously. Worst movie ever.

Or quite possibly one of the best movies for all the reasons mentioned above.
Another bad movie though, Killer Condom.

man, I wish I had those 2 hours of my life back.
I thought Requim for a Dream was a great movie, good sountrack, great cinematography, good acting, cool story.
Mulholland Drive, now that was a sucky movie, complete waste of time
Eraser Head, boring, I don't like David Lynch
2001: A Space Odyssey really sucked, though the SFX were great for the time
Blade 3, Matrix 3

I'd have to issue a major +1 there...
I've seen a whole load of movies that I didn't like and I don't even bother going to the cinema anymore since so many of them are just for the money (Harry uses his magic stick, part seven billion), but 2001... jesus... where to start
I'm willing to give things a seriously big chance, but after an hour of nothing but music that's way too loud and voices that you can barely hear I actually turned the TV off and left the room quite angry.
Favourite film... Blade Runner, closely followed by Ghost In The Shell. Even though there is a bit too much 'now we must explain what we mean' in the second the animations and ideas are beautifully done. The Matrix basically pulled Ghost In The Shell word for word in parts. The credits at the beginning, for instance, are literally identical. If I was a judge, I'd probably have been happy to let the Ghost In The Shell guys sue the Matrix producers and then set fire to the masters of it. And then do a shite on the junk that is only now slightly worse because it's been carbonised. At least everyone recognises 2001 for what it is and only watches it when they're drunk at 3am. Which is a shame, because Arhtur C Clarke himself was (?is?) a dude!
I saw American Beauty just recently, it was boring on good. I didn't feel like I'd just been mugged by the secret time stealers after it finished.

No entertainment whatsoever to this viewer. I even watched it twice cause I thought maybe I missed something. Absolutely the worst movie ever.

You wrote Crash? Must have, how else could you know the writers intention.

Another reason it's so shitty. If you need to be reminded of reality, go outside. Movies are for being taken away.

That is ridiculous. There are many parts of reality that we don't get to see often, that's what movies are also for. A movie that comes to mind is Lilja 4-Ever about a 16 year old girl who is abducted into forced prostitution. Really impressive and horrifying movie.

Really impressive and horrifying movie. Because it takes you away. If you were surrounded by the sex trade every day, I highly doubt you'd want to watch a movie about it.

Judge Dred, The Fast and the Furious, 2 Fast 2 Furious, Topgun, Passenger 57, All the Rockys and Rambos, Batman 3 and 4, Fear Dot Com, Bedazzled, any movie with Chevy Chase... The list can go on forever. How much of my life have I wasted watching this shit?

I can't approve of anything so bloated with the music of Frank Stalone. I also have somewhat of a bias against Sylvester Stalone.
Although to be fair, I haven't seen all of the Rockys, just like 1, 3, and 4 I think. Maybe 2 was good?
