I wish I didn't live in Georgia, one of the two states that can't recieve mushroom spores by mail. I used to pick from work, but they don't grow anymore. I don't think anyone cares, but I just figured I should share. But I can't wait for Bonnaroo!!! I'll be talking to Lucy all weekend. Anyone else going?

Maybe you can find/use a mail forwarding service in another state. The spore vendors can't send to your state but the mail forwarding services have no idea what's in the package and they sure as hell won't care.

I agree, Georgia can be a craptastic state. It's great for someone, like my self, who is into nature though. We have all kinds of ecosystems to look around in.
I'm big on keeping predatory fish and aquatic plants. Almost every species of predatory fish that is fun to keep has been outlawed- piranhas, snakeheads, freshwater stingrays, walking catfish... you name it, it's illegal or will be soon. They've also outlawed countless species of aquatic plants. Pussies.
I hate Atlanta, it is one of the most unorganize crappy cities I've ever been to.
The spore laws are rediculous, but a lot of states are starting to adopt the same laws. Ohio will soon be on the list if it isn't already. Funny thing about Georgia is that Cubes grow here naturally. All you have to do is find 1 cube, print it, do some agar work, and you have a viable source of cubensis(although I can't reccomend that because it's illegal). I'd be curious to see how many cops actually knew what a spore print looked like if they came across one.
On the plus side, Georgia is one of the best states in the nation for picking wild 'shrooms. We have over 5 (maybe near 10?) different species of active mushrooms. I have personally found 7 species of active mushrooms.
Not to mention Psilocybe weilii, its among the top 5 most potent mushrooms in the world and it ONLY grows in Georgia. Aside from that, they're retardedly easy to find when they're in season.

one of the 3 states that you can't send spores into...
California, Georgia and Idaho.
I remember when it was just Cali and Georgia...
the spore elf used to feel sorry for those poor souls and send them spores anyway.
then he got scared and stopped sending them...around the time Idaho became illegal.

poor Ralphster had to leave the state of Idaho and restart his spore business in another state...that would totally blow!~
Ohio hasn't made spores illegal yet...btw
If you live in Georgia...at least you have several different species that grow there...go hunting!~

Georgia is one of the best states to live in for hunting mushrooms.

That pretty much sums up Georgia anywhere south of Macon... And the entire state of Alabama.
