My cat, such an industrious feline, has this casings with an extremely aggressive and rhizomorphic mycelium. This amazonian strain casing is wbs, 60/40 verm./coco coir, RH 90 (wet perlite), temp 72, air exchange is taken care by cool mist. The casings have been in the fruiting chamber for 15 days, after only 2 days incubation. What do you think?

I've never seen anything like that. It's unbelievable. Ridiculous. Unfathomable. I want a print.

Some more... as far as I can get without sticking my head into the fruiting chamber (contam risk). Hope it is interesting.

I did some more casings (same spores) without incubating, this is, I put them directly in the fruiting chamber. That was a week ago and the mycelium is doing exactly the same. I hope I get some pinning so I can get the most prints out of these (only 2 pins until now, but growing fast).

Very interesting--I just peaked at my cat's project, which was Golden Teacher spawned on modified WBS and cased in 50/50 with horse poo, and was astounded by the aggressive rhizo growth. My cat told me to see if I could find others with a similar growth pattern (b/c it scared me at first!), and I found this thread.
Mine isn't quite as spectacular as this, but very similar--it looks like a forest!
Thanks for the thread...my cat is very happy now

HOLY FUCKING HELL what is happening in these pictures?!?! Some year 2007 witchcraft? Ayahuasca vibes in the substrate, brah? Lol. Mind boggling though, really. Can you say “what the fuck?”
& I thought the brick I just put in my Martha was extra snowy...

Anyway this is nuts and oddly worth the gravedigging necro.
...You’re not going to get an answer Funguys95. Poster hasn’t been active in nearly 10 years...nor has this thread been active for almost 13 years. Check dates before you post. You’re newbie neglect had a pretty awesome unintended result though lol for me anyway...Jesus I’ve never seen anything remotely like that, and I’m years into this hobby.

Having a hard time finding current posts and can’t start a new post not being a subscriber. :/ were you talking about my myc or the OP’s myc that you’ve never seen anything like it before? It’s my first grow and I’m just a bit nervous about it. Been looking for advice but don’t know what thread to post in

I was talking about the pictures posted by the OP - they are exceedingly strange. I’m not sure what to think exactly. Perhaps he received spores or otherwise inoculated via a culture of a completely different fungal species than P. Cubensis? That’s my guess. I have never known cubensis mycelium to exert itself like that. Who knows.
I wasn’t able to get the video you uploaded to play on my phone. Post some pictures. Happy to help. If there is truly a lot of rizo mycelium, you simply have an abundance of fungi in it’s vegetative, pre-mushroom state - nothing wrong with that. If you have cobweb, than that is another matter. Cobweb is easily distinguishable from mycelium. If you have something like what the OP posted - take me to your leader.
What style are you growing? Are you doing BRF cakes, or grain to bulk substrate?
