Poisonous and edible together?

If I go mushroom hunting and put all the mushrooms I find in one paper bag, and then when I get home separate them and throw out the poisonous ones, will it be safe to eat the edible ones?

It's not a great idea to store each collection in the same bag. Especially if it is something that you may want to consume later (after proper identification of course!). Species that look similar could possibly get confused with each other. Separating everything again can take extra time and be a chore that could have been easily avoided.
Sometimes the mushrooms can change colors or size as they loose moisture. So after seeing them again they might not look the same as they did once picked. This just causes more confusion.
Usually if I see anything that I plan on eating, I store it in its own bag.
Sometimes more than one species can grow in the same habitat, very close to each other, so keep that in mind and be careful.

There is some toxin in the spores, so the edible ones will be contaminated with a small amount of whatever made the poisonous ones poisonous. The odds are good that there wouldn't be enough to make you sick, but why risk it? Paper bags are cheap and easy to get, so take a few with you.
Some mushrooms such as False Morels produce toxins that are volatile, so the fumes from the mushrooms can contaminate whatever they're stored with. There are even cases of poisoning from these mushrooms where people have become ill from breathing the fumes from the mushrooms while cooking them.
If I suspect that I might want to eat a mushroom (or collection of mushrooms) I make sure that I bag them separately from the others so there is no chance of contamination.
Happy mushrooming!

Probably, but you wouldn't really want to risk it. It's unlikely they'd become deadly poisonus from being beside poisonus shrooms, but for certain things like those poisonus lactarius that secrete milky stuff you wouldnt really want that on your edible shrooms. Best just to grab ones you're sure, or pretty sure are edible. Or grab some pics, post em here, then go back and harvest after a good ID.

Wrap the mushrooms in wax paper, this keeps them moist, from being damaged, and each seperate from one another
