first casing pH 6.5-7?

alright so I made my first casing last night using the 50/50 casing tek. . . what can i expect if my pH is around 6.5-7? Also I substituted hydrated lime for garden lime if that makes any difference. I read that since garden lime is thicker it may take longer to fully dissolve and raise the pH.

Although thats a little below optimum it will work just fine.

Do you still have the box/container that the garden lime came in?
You should check to see how much magnesium is in it. I believe anything over 3% will adversely affect the mushrooms.

Very true.

I would put it in there pretty soon, when quite a bit is poking out (about 60%) fruit it.

Have ya read my pinning strategy? Your gonna want to patch those early breakthough's to avoid premature pinning which will hurt yield.

YEAH I read your pinning strategy right after your first post and i liked what i read a lot but i only have like 5 or 6 spots where the mycelia is even poking through and they're pretty evenly spread around the casing. Should i still add some casing?

I don't think it will "burn" the mycelium, but i'm sure it won't help any.

The pH of 6.5 to 7.0 is nearly ideal (Stamets recommends 6.8 to 7.2). Also the calcium carbonate, unlike hydrated lime, will continue to raise pH in the coming days and will likely eventually raise it to the mid 7s (check it in a few days). Calcium carbonate doesn't spike pH and then drop it like a rock like hydrated lime.
