Newbie Porcini Question: Where to get them?

Hello all! I am a newb to shroom growing, and I am also a chef. I cannot seem to locate any dealer that has porcini information or spores. is this a lost cause, and just grows wild?

are you from italy?

a lot cause yes at 90%, but not impossible (never seen with my eyes), the Boletus edulis (Porcino) is a mushroom that life in symbiosis with some trees..

Hey nemmy, Italian wholesale grocers usually carry dried porcini. Some of the larger wholesale chains that sell to restaurants also sell them. If you live in a major urban area chances are you can find them in the produce section of
of a large grocery or co-op.
As FreeSporePrints said, Porcini, Boletus edulis grow in association with conifers, birch and sometimes other trees like oak. If there is a mushroom club in your area check them out, they probably won't show you their patches, but they will tell you if they occur in your area.
