Okay to leave light on 24 hours? Do mushes need dark?
    #5548576 - 04/23/06 06:48 PM (17 years, 9 months ago)

Hello all. Again, a big thanks to everyone that got me started.

I am growing PF Tek, using a big rubbermaid clear container with a hole cut on the top for a clear, plexiglass lid, West perlite in the bottom, and plastic crochet matting for the cakes to sit on.

I have a 40 watt fluro in there. I know that mushes need light only to trigger the pinning and such... I know they don't get any energy from the light, it just acts as a signal.

But do they need a dark period for any reason, now that I am inducing fruiting? I have some geranium cuttings in the same closet, and would prefer to leave the light on 24 hours if I can.

This is my setup, sans the perlite, water jug, and air stone and pump.

Any advice is much appreciated, thanks!

24 is ok after you are fruiting. However it is always better to simulate nature whenever possible.
