Thanks guys. So listen, can someone just sum up exactly how to use the PC?
I;ve been reading this manual, but im so confused about some shit. Do i basically put 1 1/2 in of water in the bottom, then put the jars inside, and put the the PC (sealed) over my stove (medium flamed) until it reachs 15psi. Then what?
It the manual it mentions "exhausting", telling me that i must allow steam to escape from the vent pipe for 7 minutes before placing the pressure regulator weight on the vent pipe. WTF IS THIS SHIT?
After just looking, it seems i dont have a PR Wieght.
Is this an issue? sorry so many questions, such a n00b to this whole PC thing/

I saw that exact PC on ebay a while back! Congrats on the buy. I just got an AA like that (but a 921) recently. Roadkill helped me out. *goes to look up useful thread he linked to*

there you have it. Complete instructions on how to use it (with the pressure relief valve you have)
You have a metal thing where my over pressure plug is though. I don't know anything about that. Maybe someone else can let us in on what the deal with that is?

Nice find.
I'd help with operation but I have a Presto and it uses a weight rocker. =/

I'm using a new 921 with the same sterilizer valve that yours has been equipped with. Operation is simple IMO:
I fill with water until it shows just below the top spacer inside of the cooker. Mine came with two spacers so I stack mine on top of each other. I don't like to allow water to touch the jars at all.
Your cooker should have two arrows: one on the lid, and one on the cooker. These should be aligned when sealing the two together. Make sure there is an even and balanced seal all the way around before you begin to crank on the wingnuts. I like to adjust mine so all of the wings are just touching the lid itself. I then turn half cranks of opposite nuts moving in either a clockwise or counter clockwise motion. I then tighten all of them once more until they are secure. If you reach your last wingnuts and you don't have very much room to rotate them, readjust your procedure to give you more leeway once you reach the last nuts.
After you've evenly sealed the cooker, it's time to apply some heat, but first I'll explain the valve to you. To be clear you do not have the weight that your manual speaks of. In my opinion, congrats! Your cooking procedure will be easier. The valve serves as a toggle valve for pressure. As you have it pictured in your attachments, it is set in the position to build pressure. If your cooker at anytime begins to creep over 15 psi, simply take a fork and raise it slightly to vent off the excess pressure until you're back in the range that you're looking for. I've found that pressure remains fairly constant once you've found the correct setting on your stove. Keep in mind that pressure is controlled by your stovetop setting. Also, I would not recommend venting the pressure immediately with the valve after cooking. I like to let mine cool off for a few minutes until the pressure is around 5-7psi and then I will flip my valve to eliminate excess pressure. I only use the procedure because I use rye grains and I like to shake them while they are still very hot. Again, I find this one reason why the valve is essential for the type of growing that I practice.
I like to crank my stove on high until I reach 8-10psi, then I reduce to slightly below medium. To further give you an idea of where to start, I use the largest burner and I also use an electric stove top very similar to yours. Try a few runs without any jars to get a feel for it, and you'll have no problem using it in the near future.
Welcome to the AA family and good luck!

And also, you will not lose moisture content within the cooker itself thanks the the valve as well. Make sure that you're not physically boiling the jars by adding too much water. IMO, less is more in your situation.
Also, if your stove is manufactured by hotpoint, then we're using the same stove as well. I would swear from your picture that we are, but a good reference point would be around the 3/8 setting (just between low and medium. I find that if I rapidly heat the water to quickly bring it to 8-10 psi, then a low setting keeps it constant and requires less adjustment.
As to your original question as to what to do after you reach 15psi, that's about it! Pending on what tek you're using, once you've reached your psi, start the clock. For my rye, I cook at 15psi for an hour. After the hour has expired, I simply cut off my stove, and move the cooker to another burner to cool (Caution: The cooker will be VERY hot).
And last but not least, I would never leave my cooker unattended. I know that a lot of hands that have a lot of experience may practice this, and that there are a lot of safety measures on the cooker itself to prevent injuries, but play it safe.
Otherwise, it will WAKE YOU UP.
Feel free to PM me with any other questions. I hope I covered the areas that you needed.
