Can i eat mushies off green mold/cobweb substrate?

I picked one healthy flush from my bulk poo grow, and now the 2nd flush has a few small mushies, but is contaming. It has some small green mold, and grey cobweb on top a little. Im thinking about letting the few mushies go 3-5 more days and then picking them and ditching the substrate. Should i be ok to eat these along with a few from my 1st flush?

IMO the mushrooms could upset your stomach because of trace amounts of mold/contams
i ate a dried 8th of some cubensis i picked off my green mold cake and my stomach ached for atleast 3 or so hours and i had a feeling it wasnt jus from shroom nasuea possibly from the mold/mold spores otherwise you should be ok i doubt it'll kill you but theres a possibility you could get somewhat sick...so dont say i didnt warn ya .. thats jus my 2 cents about it

someone really needs to study this because everyone always just says your probably shouldnt take the chance..but there wouldnt be a chance if someone tested it and gave a definite yes or no. obviously some molds are very bad for humans but ones like cobweb and the mean green seem to be up in the air. if their is a study done proving that these contams make it into the makeup of the fruits i would like to see it.

don't quote m but there was a post about this last week and someone said green mold is fine. i mean ive ate moldy bread a few times you know when you get half way through and realize it thats anoying but you don't get sick. blak mold however creats toxins that can kill you. but even there apaprently it takes a good year to build these up enough to kill you growing mushrooms we won't have to worry about it building up over a year. so id say its fine if its green mold but not if its black.

Just wash them off (like you should do with everything you eat) after harvesting then dry them. I'd bet YOUR life you wont die or even get sick.
You've probably eating far worst things at a fast food place.

That statement isn't completely true. While green mold may not effect some people negatively, others may have bad negative effects. Molds will have the most potential to effect the elderly, young children, asthmatics and those with weak immune systems, but to just say that they are safe is not real smart. Everyone is different and molds have many variations.
Common sense should tell you to avoid any kind of mold. Even if it doesn't get you sick, you can spread mold spores around when you handle an infected cake or casing and contaminate the rest of your grow area. To me it's not worth it, but if you need to trip that bad, go for it!

The green mold contaminants of mushroom culture are not toxic to humans. Period. Anybody who has ever eaten one bite of cheese has eaten molds. Ever wonder what the 'blue' is in blue cheese? http://www.straightdope.com/mailbag/mbluecheese.html RR

Don't change the question from, 'can I eat mushies off green mold/cobweb substrate" to "can I eat contams"? Nobody suggests eating the trichoderma itself. However, mushrooms from the affected substrate are completely fine.
Keeping the contaminated substrate for a few extra days is not recommended unless you move it outside in the shade. Otherwise, the fruits should be picked now and the substrate carefully wrapped up and tossed out. RR

Is keeping the moldy substrate not recommended because it could disperse mold spores that could contaminate future grows or what?
I only have one tub going at once and im planning on cleaning out my FC before my next grow gets started.
What is the reasong for putting the tub outside in the shade?

outside beacouse it cannot spread molds throughtout your home, in the shade so that it will remain cool. a sealed plastic cantainer exposed to direct sunlight(even pale norther climates or cool spring sun) can easily excede 100F witin 30 minuites.

Exactly. A contaminated substrate will be puking millions of contaminants spores. You don't want that in your house. RR
