Bulk Question

I'm wanting to do a bulk grow in a mono tub. My question is i was not wanting to add a casing layer my first time with bulk because,
1. it takes an extra week to a week and a half to fruit further risking contamination.
2. Ive seen many many reports of cubes fruiting better without a casing layer, obviously this wont be the case when you get good at casing.
my question is 1. if i don't case it will it still fruit without any means of humidifying? I mean i will mist the walls of the tub and the substrate until pins arrive, will this be enough humidity, or do you have to case?
2. Also with a mono tub i know you can put poly filled holes right above your substrate, and toward the top of the tub for gas exchange, does this mean you do not need to fan with a mono tub since co2 is heavy.
3.If you should still fan would it make a difference to run an aquarium air pump tube into the top of the tub to help push fresh air in and forcing co2 out?
Thank you.

i would think so. since a mono tub gets all its humidity from your casing layer. if you don't have one thn its sucking your substrate dry. if it pinned you would have a horible pinset i would guess.
however maybe doing teh wax paper think would help with that. drape a layer of wax paper over top. this will help create a microclimet better suited for pinning. this however won't help you out with adding moisture, the other benifit of a casing layer. you might consider adding lots of wet verm to your substrate if you go this route.

I know the double tub tek calls for not opening the tub until fruiting, but with mono tubs I will usually open it once or twice a day if I'm not busy to give it a fanning for extra air exchange followed by a light misting of the tub walls. (I still use polyfil stuffed holes for air exchange.)
The wax paper might be worth trying. Alternatively you could just put a light sprinkling of strait vermiculite on top and mist it.
