yellowing: Is it water damge or contamination?

Hello, I am new to this community. I innoculated four jars on on December 14th. The jars did not become contaminated to the best of my knowledge, but I guess that it what I am trying to find out. No pictures. Out of 4, I have 3 that have significant yellowing, which I read on page 50 of the 2001 PF tek is a sign of water damage. The remaining jar has yellowing, but only on the bottom 20 percent of the jar. The rest is bright white with mycelium. The jar is a one half pint jar. It smells "mushroomy" as they say, but after eight weeks I see no pins. Do you guys think it may be contaminated? Forgive me for being a newbie.

so youve left the cakes in the jars for 8 weeks...or have you birthed them...if there really water loged you shouldnt leave them in the jars...i dont think a cake will pin if its severly water loged...at least not in the damn jar..cant really tell ya if its contamination though....no pics...
