question on pan. cyanescens

I think everybody knows UNA?s tek how to cultivate the pans. He inoculated a straw/pooh/verm Mixture in a spawnbag with colonized rye and then cased it.
I wonder if they?ll fruit if you inoculate a (rye)/pooh/Verm/straw substrate and case it. Anybody has experience on this?

Did I read something wrong, or did you just list the same four ingredients twice? In my experience, pans love being spawned to straight horse manure. Allow to colonize fully, then apply a thin 1/4" casing layer of peat/verm. Allow the casing layer to colonize 50% or so, then expose to fruiting conditions. RR

If I read it correctly, it sound like he is saying Una mixes colonized rye spawn with the sub (straw/poo/verm) and MobyD is wondering if he can premix the rye/straw/poo/verm and shoot that up with spores, let that colonize and then case it.
If that is the case, I would recommend against using rye and just creating a brf/straw/poo/verm mix and shooting that up. I think you will have better luck using brf in a mixture than you will rye berries.

The problem is if you place uncolonized grains in with manure or straw, they will contaminate before you can get them colonized. Best to colonize the grains first under sterile conditions, then use those to spawn the rest. RR
