Salvia

Hey guys, I have been lurking the boards for about 3 months now , and have finally decided to register. I have tried Salvia 3 times with 5x extract, and 4 times with 15x extract. I was just wondering if anybody experiences the same symptoms as me. After my first hit, the entire world starts to spin, but then stops at a certain point, and this point seems like it is somewhere at my cheek because I get a very noticeable, and painful "prick" at this same spot every time I smoke Salvia, this spinning and pricking starts over and over again about every 5 seconds and it doesn't stop until the trip is over. I just wanted to know if Salvia has made anybody else experience physical pain EVERY time they smoke Salvia.

I tried Salvia for the first time about one week ago. I must say that this is one extreme substance. I don't doubt that it could make you feel, or feel like you are feeling (whatever that means), actual pain.
Although I've only tried this once, I've never come across anything that sounds like your experience in FAQs and trip reports; It seems that Salvia is a very person specific, reacting differently for most users, although many users do seem to report consistent experiences with repeated use. I will be interested to test this when I do my second hit next week.
BTW, gratz on making your first post and welcome.
-------------------- My vision fell upon the seven tall candles upon the table. At first they wore the aspect of charity, and seemed white slender angels who would save me: but then all at once there came a most deadly nausea over my spirit, and I felt every fibre in my frame thrill, as if I had touched the wire of a galvanic battery, while the angel forms became meaningless spectres, with heads of flame, and I saw that from them there would be no help.

My friend said that when he first did salvia, he was in a book, the book of time. He was on one page and the page was turning... the time was moving on, and he was being left behind. the people of the moment before were telling him he needed to catch up to the moment and he was ripped from that page of time. He said that it hurt a great deal to be ripped from the page of time. His leg especially hurt...

I certainly feel the intense gravity each time, moreso with higher doses. The only time I would actually consider it "painful" was on a particularly high dose, where I felt this incredible pressure on my waist. Looking back, I was wearing a pair of sweat pants that were a little constricting, but during the trip I felt like the skin on my abdomen was being pulled so tightly that my pelvis was poking through.
Other than that, I've never felt what I would call pain, but certainly a heavy body load every time. For me, the gravity is usually centered around the waist. Maybe the pain in your cheek is where the powerful gravity so characteristic of smoked salvia is centered on you?

i've only been able to feel the "gravity" or the pushing from it because i cant bring myself to smoke enough of it to actually break-through.

Maybe you're clenching your teeth? I seem to remember noticing I was clenching so I sat with my mouth open.

pressure built up from more than just the down or gravity direction in this morning's bathing cum salvinorin experiment - from gravity and basic muchness, I half emeged out of the hot bath, and I was stuck half in and half out of the bath tub with armpits rooted to the bath rim, writing in my notebook on the floor and head practically underneath the toilet (it is a small bathroom - in a teeny rental townhouse).
I am so happy we keep this place spick and span clean. sheesh! the places I end up putting my head?!?!
I note that everything presses in and out and creation gushes forth from myriad impetus, normally and magically.

This happened to me only once, and it was after 3 hits of 25x extract. I felt the same sensation as you, except in the center of the palm of my hand. It was very bothersome.

Well thankyou everybody for the helpful salvia info, I think I may be trying Salvia again today, and I am going to try and focus on the "ticking" pain to see if I can force it to go away!

the first time i tried salvia i smoked a half bowl of 15x. i tripped balls for at least 10 minutes although before i just got done of a bowl of some dank bud. the air turned into puzzle pieces they assembled themselves right infront of me. everything around me look animated like a cartoon. for some reason i freaked out and ran in my house, when i sat on my coach i felt like i was sinking into the floor. my first experience was awesome and i have had many good experiences since. i would defenitely recommend smoking some good bud before smoking salvia it intensifies it alot.

It sounds like your not 'lifting off' try smoking 10x - 20x (good 1/8-1/5 gram and see what the real deal is with salvia.

yeah.. ive felt pain as well. sorta.. of all feelins experienced on salvia this was the closest to pain. altho the pain was somehow felt displaced.. like you were feeling the pain from outside your own body.
it was the last time i took it actually when i experienced this "pain"
for me it felt like i was split in the middle by something sharp like a razor blade. i could feel the cut in my lip (which felt like it was split in half) -when i tried to move the cutting sensation stayed at the same place only my body moved.. the cutting sensation was now going diagonally across my face also cutting into my arms. i could feel this cutting sensation as if it were an object i could not see.
in that state i thought about that maybe i hadn't smoked enough to loose total connection to my body or that i was running into for me not yet visible objects in salvia space. i had the feelin that to be aware of these objects and to conciously navigate around them i would need more practice in taking salvia.
i've read in a bood called peopled darkness that the more one consumes salvia the more one gets accustomed to the feelings that this state brings with it. at some point he starts calling these feelings familiar. he also realizes that the more he moves through salvia space the more stable the place where he travels gets. at some point he is able to start off an experience at the exact same spot where the other one has ended. sometimes the transition between worlds isn't felt at all and the next thing he realizes right after smoking is that he is there.
quite a nice read actually!
peace!

Last night I smoked some with my friends on the other side of the country. I was really happy to find out that I was smoking it wrong and that it does work. Well, there was the spinning feeling, and when I moved my hands I got a stingy feeling.
I found it was best to lay down once I'd taken the bong hit and then stay still, the salvia made me and the matress become one. I was the most comfortable I have ever been.
Oh, and last night, after the inital trance, I was lucid, still wobbly, but I could shape my visuals. Or rather I had my friends giggling about what they saw and that changed my landscape, the giggles becoming mountains and grass and other curvy things.

I wanted to be as much an expert as possible before trying anything new and was mildy disappointed that noone had brought this up already.
I've experienced strong, prickly sensations, along the edges of my spine and sides of my face after smoking 10x or 40x in an ordinary pipe, but not after chewing or smoking the leaves.
Can this be associated with any common solvents?

it has nothing to do with solvents. a strong quid will give the same effects, it's just really hard to get that much leaf into your face.

Thank you.
Rather than saying that noone had brought up the Salvia prickes, before, I should have said that I had never heard of them, before.

smoked some x21 and held it in a long long time...and i experienced a winding feeling something pulling my head up and back...it was trying to take me away..so i let it...
my friend told me i stood up and started moivng my hands up and down in front of him with my hands cupped as if they were holding water or something...i then mumbled something and fell and slammed my head on the wall...
this was when i became aware...not aware that i was tripping but just aware...
the winding came on again but this time the room was spinning/winding slowly as if it were turning a page in a book..i saw the other side of the page and it was blackness...the nothing or something...
tried to move and it was if i was pulling myself from the page...there were strings of paint or material that were making it difficult to free myself...this is where he told me that i was trying to climb the wall(sideways along the floor)and i was just staring past everything including him...
then felt like i was out of my body or at least off that damn page in my book...guess i got up and went towards the front door and was trying to get into my shoes(they were backwards...lol)
i remeber trying to get back into my body(my body being the shoes?)...buddy got me to sit down and so i sat back down back where i started my trip(go figure...as if i never left right)found some water (elixer of life btw..it will bring you back to a bot better consciousness everytime )
smoked a joint and went over what had just happened with my buddy...it reminded me of Ginsum...anybody ever do that?
you don't remeber anything...and you have to have a sitter and they'll tell you all the crazy sheet you did...
Oh yea...and there was a dent/mark on the wall where i hit my head but had no pain or bump on my noggin...buddy told me that the wall rippled like water when i hit it...he smoked some salvia too but didn't hold it in very long cause i started my trip and freaked him out i guess...lol...
Good stuff for a quick little intense trip if you ask me...
next time you do it...hold it in till you can't anymkore and take a nice big pull on dat pipe...and let it take you...

I also experienced the 'pain' when quidding salvia. It is not a real pain for me but more an enormous pressure. During my last quid the pressure was located on my left temple. I thought it was a problem within my head (during the trip) but now I think it was just an exaggeration of to much frowning.

The last two times I tried Salvia I felt a lot of pain on the whole right edge of my body (mouth and everything). It felt like I was being eaten by tiny bugs and it distracted me.
