Alteration of BRF/Verm tek

I was mixing up some substrate about 2 weeks ago but I decided to alter the ratio's a bit. Instead of putting in 2 verm/1 BRF/1 H20 I mixed up 2.5 verm/1 BRF/0.5 coco coir/1.5 water but for some reason not a single jar has colonized.
At first I thought the syringe might have been a dud but I made a honey water culture and its literally swarming with little white strands of mycellium.
Can I safely assume its a shitty substrate mixture or should I keep waiting for signs of colonization.
I should also add I brought the temp in my incubator down to around 77 for my casing trays. Maybe the spores are just taking extremely long to germinate because of the low temerature.

should germ in a week at that temp if not still before.
maybe your LC was bad. myc was that of something else.
i don't think that your substrate was the problem since its pretty dman close.
next time do a few normal PF cakes aswel as a controle.

Yeah thats pretty strange. I actually did inoculate about 3 normal ratio jars the only thing I did different was put about .4 cc per jar to save spores.
I havent used my LC yet. The reason I find it strange is because the liquid culture is crawling with mycellium from the same syringe but the jars havent colonized.
Im going to inoculate about 2 of my alternated jars with my LC and use up the rest of the liquid culture on normal ratio jars to see what happens.
I was wondering if I can use liquid culture mycellium to inoculate more LC's? I dont see why I couldnt. Im running pretty low on money so I need to reproduce my spores any way I can and seeing as Im not advanced enough to use rye as substrate yet LC's seem like a good way to go.
I say im not advanced enough to grow with rye but I havent even tried it yet. Im going to get a bag of rye or birdseeds and make jars and inject them with the LC sometime soon.

I should also add I bought the syringe from high times and the bastards couldnt even tell me what strain it was. They said if its a dud to bring it back but how in the name of god can I prove it was a dud to them without incriminating myself and high times.

well, if your substrate was undersaturated, the addition of your LC (i'm assuming ~4cc/jar?) could have caused the coir to expand to a point where your jar is PACKED with coir/verm. (This happened to me) after two weeks of no growth, I chopped one cake apart, and it was very very hard and compact....maybe just check one jar? Also, you used a 3:1 verm+coir:BRF, as opposed to the normal 2:1 verm:brf, any reason why? I would this thie would eventually lead to less weight...

I accidentally froze my LC today. If I thaw it out is there any chance the mycellium will survive?
