is that in the appalachians?
there's a place @ the FL-GA border called Fernandina Island
hundreds of thousands of massive oaks
for whatever reason they all seem to grow very horizontally and make this thick canopy
best climbing around

I have to admit I looked at all three pictures and only after did I realize I never actually looked at the tree...

That hole in the first picture reminds me of Alice in Wonderland.

The tree is south eastern Pennsylvania. I think it is the biggest oak I have ever seen. The girl my friend. She is incredibly beautiful, likes the woods, and is pro-life catholic like me. She is perfect for me, but maybe she is out of my league. She is my nature model for now, and I think she is groovy.

In the top picture I can see a head and an arm hanging down. Oh wait that's the girl. Actually it looks like an ape head on the tree but more like an elephant trunk instead of an arm.

It is only in fairy tales...
In England, they have huge old oaks that are still alive but hollow in the center. A fungus eats it from the inside out, but only the dead parts, its a symbiotic relationship, but you can really stand in some of the trees.

Trees are certainly amazing. Here's a picture of a 10ft diameter old growth douglas fir here in Oregon. The hole is large enough to stand in and the top of the tree has been broken off by lightning but it's still growing right along!

I'm sorry, I meant uncorrupted midwest girls do only exist in fairy tales, and these trees really do exist in england. Two separate thoughts, I was tired.
