Suggestions?

I just recently have regained interest into growing shrooms again after over a year and am pretty stoked to get back into it. Up until now, I have only done BRF cakes and casings but would like to perhaps do something on a larger scale...bulk perhaps. Was wondering on some suggestions on what I could do. So far, I have made 7 spore syringes. 2 each of Mazatapec, PESH, and Mexi-cube, and one Malabar as the spore print was...lacking. I originally planned on doing BRF cakes again..but the thought of dealing with 84 jars and having to crumble them all later turned me off from that idea. I don't have a pressure cooker but plan on purchasing one along the road. Without one at the moment...is BRF my only option? All suggestions are appreciated and I will be doing a grow log so your suggestion might be what I end up doing...

Another thing about these syringes is that a very small amount of harmala alkaloids was mixed into the sterile water used in them. Here are some cool pictures of how they glow under blacklight. I don't think the MAOI will have any effect on the final product..but we'll just wait and see...

you are pretty much limited to pf cakes until you get a pressure cooker. i got a cheapy 1 at walmart, holds 5 pint jars, for $28. however it is just a 12psi rockertop, but has worked great for my WBS so far. unless you get the supposedly no-need-to-sterilize-myconitro, then you'll still be stuck with brf. peace.

you could do poo cakes. but since you plan to spawn to bulk anyways i see no real value. poo cakes my have more nutes but i don't think they really colonize faster then pf cakes id say its the same and since you can't shake a cake your stuck with longer colonization times.
just get the PC now haha. you know you want it you know you'll get it later. save youself the pain in the ass and pick it up then you never have to deal with another cake except for the old novelty one and maybe to check if an LC is still good.

Alright well that gets me thinking...I'm sure the PC will pay off. I am kind of broke, but income tax season is here and for once I'm actually getting money so perhaps I'll make the investment. How big of a PC would you guys suggest. I'm not going to get a brand spanking new one but I would like to get an authentic All American. I'll start shopping around. So persay I do get a pressure cooker...would wild bird seed be the way to go ...or something else?

First off welcome back, second read up on straw and hpoo for bulk. I think that if you go for h-poo you don't need a PC then again i have never done hpoo. If you use BRF cakes and hpoo i think that you will be ok with no PC.
Someone correct me if i am wrong?
And thoes are COOL syringes do you think with the harmala alkaloids your shrooms will glow, or will it be easier to track the growth?

About that blacklight. Not sure about Spores, but I know for a fact that it can cause mutes if you let it come in contact with primordia, ectect.
Just some FYI.
As for bulk...Look up some of Agar and Roadkill's main threads, they both have GREAT write-up's

For a fact? Where's the resource on that? I will avoid the blacklight just in case but would like to see the research on that. Personally...I think it looks pretty cool...

I recently stepped from BRF to Rye grains but have yet to attempt a bulk grow.
As far as the AA is concerned, check out the 921. Mine works well with an electric stove top, and it's just so damn pretty.
Good luck on your way.

Check your local second hand stores for PCs. I know a few lucky bastards that obtained good condition AAs for under 30 bux...Pretty nice since I dropped 250 USD on my 930.
I'd shit a brick if I saw an AA 941 at my local thrift store for under 100...
I'd grab one of those prop swords and some fancy frilled tunics that they have, perhaps some leather boots and britches... then mount an assault on anyone near it until I had IT and a receipt in my hand.
But, my AA 930 does the trick just fine!
As for advice that matters to you: No need to go any smaller than an AA921. If you're going that size, their is little point in the 925. Some say you can squeeze in a few more pints with it, but who cares? Next worthy size up is the 930(14 quart jars at a time), then follows the heavy hitter: AA model 941. Which I believe does 21 quarts at a time. Either that or 28. It's been awhile since I was shopping for a PC so my memory may be a tad off.
Check pressure-cooker-outlet.com or some such thing for more details. You can also check the wisconsin aluminum foundry's website(they make the AA brand).
GL and welcome back to our trippy hobby!
