Hey guys! Well, this is my first go at going out and trying to find some mushrooms, and I found a whole bunch of these guys on the shore line. I live up at Lake Hartwell, and they were growing out of some sand.
These shrooms are very tiny.. the biggest one was maybe an inch/inch 1/2 tall. Anyway, I'm just curious to see if anyone can tell me what these are.

* Habitat: Lake Hartwell, GA. Found growing in the sand near the lake. * Characteristics of the gills: Light brown. * Characteristics of the stem: About an inch tall, light/dark brown, smooth texture, solid, pretty thin. * Characteristics of the cap: Light brown in color, texture seems like it has "edges" on it, see pics. * Spore print color: I don't have one yet. * Scent of the mushroom: They don't have a scent.

I'm not sure what they are, but I can tell you they are not one of the known active species.

I'm not sure either. My best guess is some species of Inocybe. Inocybe genus contains a couple potentially deadly mushrooms. Do NOT eat them.

Hey Eko.....ya those are a perfect example of what you dont want to ever put in your mouth......very dangerous group......as a group reffered to as fiber caps usually with long radial fibers on the caps running straight from middle of cap to edge of cap.....not usually noticable in this species because of the scaliness.....this is the poisonous Inocybe calospora......it will have a brown spore print.......also can be found under the trees......
