Well interesting enough I was asking for an incubator to incubate gecko eggs with, since you get incubators for quail eggs and shit, you know, so I get the number from this guy who builds incubators and shit. Ends up he doesn't want to build me an incubator larger than a camping cooler, I says, I got da cash. He's just like, no sorry. Very suspicious, reason bein when he heard trhe 28 degrees incubation temperature it sent off alarm bells. the bastard. its cool tho i have an ol deep freeze nice n big w a fishtank heater in there...

haha similar thing happend at home depot yesterday...asked the lady where garden lime was and where i could find a soil ph kit...she shows me then asks "so..uh...what kinda project u got goin on?" i replied with "well honestly, its none of your business but since you insist on bein nosy...im grwoing peppers and tomatoes on my balcony in pots" what was she gonna do? report me rofl...fk nosy people and their questions. its really none of their business and if they are doing their job they will mind their own. i hate feeling like i have to explain myself when i spend my hard earned money... the place i plan to go from here on out (didnt today got sidetracked) never probes into my busines...its a feed and organic gardening store...guess they just figure i like to work with soil..no one has ever asked me what i grow there and i like the people.

hIgHdRoLoVeR, I think you should try working retail. Everyone should, atleast once in life.... prefferably during December.

I was thinking the same sort of thing. Someone asking you what you're working on isn't necessarily nosy. When I used to work retail I would occasionally make conversation with customers just to be friendly and pass the time. Also, they might be trying to learn something so that when someone else comes in with a question about, say growing psychedelic mushrooms, they can know how to help them. Of course, there are those who really are nosy and will pick on you just for getting shady combinations of products or wearing a hoodie.

And when I get Hpoo, i've never been hassled, but I always carry my school ID so I can tell them I'm "investigating variation in the panaeolus genus of fungus for a mycobiology professor of mine." That should shut them up.

hahaha that's funny.....
i went and bought a whole bunch of supplies in the dead of winter.......like verm and perlite and shit
and the chick at the register was like "well it's nice to see someone trying to grow plants with weather like this."
like i was growing pot or something.....
and i told her it was for a "mycology" project........ i think she thought i said "biology", because she was like "oh! well good luck! I hope you get a good grade!"
hahaha stupid people don't know what mycology is.
and calling my mom and asking her to get me rubber gloves and 10 cc syringes with needles from her work.........that was pretty funny.
and having my PC come into work from UPS, and my food dehydrator.......my secretary thinks something is up because i always complain that i can't cook. hahaha

When I first started with this hobby I went to the local Walgreen Drugstore to buy syringes. I asked for 10cc with the biggest needles they had preferably 16 or 18 gauge. The pharmacist asked me what I was going to use them for. I wasn't really prepared for questions so I just said for a mycology project. He raised his eyebrows and sold me the stuff. I decided then to look online for syringes. ENJOY.

I was questioned when I was purchasing syringes as well, I said i needed them for epoxy, I had some shit to glue. Because they were large syringes and large needles, it was rather believable. On another occasion, I purchased verm, perlite, and a huge brick of coir, and the lady asked. "How much does this stuff expand?" me - "I have no idea, i've never used it" Her - "What are you using it for?" me - "To keep my soil moisture up." then peaced out with my shit.

yeah i got caught off gaurd at the oet store the other night. i cal lover there and start asking questions about their hydrometers and prices and what not. they the guy says, "what kind of pet?" i was like "uhhh......., it snot for a pet. im growing plants." he's like "what kinda plants.", with a somthin funny in his voice. well most plants that like humidity are tropical, and the first tropical plant i could think of was a HBWR plant, so i spit that out. he like "i never herd of it." i mentioned its a family of the morning glory plant. he asked "arent those plants poisonous?" i replied "yes". then my stoned ass with glazed over eyes told him im a internet florist. i ship rare flowers and plants all over the world. ahahah. its was funny. just in case you come across a suspicious asshole like that guy, who knew i was gowin somthin, and not sure if he's gona rat you out or just another grower finding you out. make sure you buy your stuff with cash, un traceable. atm debit, credit card, check. if the person turns out to to be crazy and want to report you they'll just look up the sale, see whom it was to, and call the goo ol P.D. probably a rare occurrence, but i witnessed it once when i used at work at a pet store.
