time to pick?

hello all. first time grower here digging for a little more detail on when i should pick my first crop. the caps have just started to pull away from the stems on the larger mushies of which there are only about one per cake. should i pick the big ones and wait on the small ones? i think that it has been almost a week since the birthday, give or take. does picking the first flush somehow trigger more growth? i know that the pictures i have seen are probably of ideal conditions, etc... but i guess i expected more end product or something. thx in advance.

unless a print is going to be made, the shrooms are usually picked around the time when the veil breaks, since they would have reached full size by then.

as far as your flush goes, cakes were never huge producers. If you want lots of 'end product' youll have to try casings.

Pick the ones that are ready and wait on the ones that are not. Usually want to pick them all within 24 hours.
