I don't see why it wouldn't work. Mushies are designed to break down plant sugars. Both corn syrup and honey are derived from plants. I know corn syrup is dextrose. I'm not sure what kind of sugar honey contains. I'd bet money that it works.

Some corn syrup has vanilla and other additives...Not sure if they will affect the spores...Also, the sugar content is not the same as honey, so you may need to adjust for that...

Honey is also sterile, corn syrup is not. We know honey is sterile because it can be left in the hive for a VERY long time and still be edible. The idea "bee"hind this is that the sugar content is so high that bacteria cannot infect it (an ancient form of food preservation is to sugar heavily (learned from honey probably) along with salting, and drying. Just an FYI.

>Honey is also sterile, corn syrup is not.
Honey is sterile as long it?s concentrated, pure honey = as long it?s not dissolved in water.
When you dissolve it it doesn?t matter if you used honey or corn sirup, both solutions have to be sterilized.
