The forgotten jars
    #5531322 - 04/18/06 09:38 PM (17 years, 9 months ago)

So I had 3 jars of B+ on BRF that I inoculated about 2 months ago and they looked suspicious for contams. So I threw them in a drawer after about 2 weeks (they still weren't fully colonized) and totally forgot about them. Now I open the drawer and one of them is growing shrooms like crazy! They have giant scary looking stems with small closed caps. My question is: pick the suckers and dry em, or try to make em grow bigger in the FC?

Also, the other two jars seemed to have recovered from the 'contams' (maybe I was just being over reactive to a slight discoloration) and have fully colonized. So I'm probably going to put those in the FC or use them outdoors.

Pick them and dry them. Some grow in jars like that on purpose so they need no FC at all. Do a search for invitro and neglect tek.

Mycofile reports greater potency for overincubated substrate so let us know if they have above average potency.

Yes this post is completely relevant. I just want to point out that in vitro shrooms grow to an excellent size once the cake is placed in the FC. I've gotten a few monsters doing this! Never pick your in vitro's, dunk and let them fruit.

As far as above average potency, I can't give a good answer...just that they never suck.
