bubbler question
    #5530402 - 04/18/06 05:52 PM (17 years, 9 months ago)

i know that using an air pump in a cup/container of water can raise RH, but will it also add fresh air? i want to use my air pump for fresh air but am tempted to make it a bubbler. i dont see how i cant add fresh air cause the bubbles float out of the water and expand into the immediate surroundings, or that my guess at least. what do ya ladies and gents think?

Run the hose into your FC, and put the bubbler stone in a container of water, and run it. It will surely introduce fresh air and humidity into your FC. How much air and humidification depends on the size of your FC, and capabilities of your air pump.

yeah it adds fresh air but you still want to do FAE's. The Co2 settles to the bottom of your FC so it might be a good idea to make holes near the bottom if possible. You will still want to fan though.

cool, that?s what i thought. my FC is a 10gal tank. not sure what the capabilities of my pump is, i think it was designed for a 5-10gal fish tank. i've read that that?s plenty, also read that you still need fanning. i leave my pump on 24/7 and fan 2-3 times a day.
