(SW Florida) 'Spent the day in the pastures today

'didnt find any Cubensis or Copelandia, but i did spot a couple handfuls of the non-active Panaeolus antillarum growing from cow dung (which for this time of year is a good sign that the Cubes and Copes are soon on their way)
also growing out there were Agaricus mushrooms of which i do not know the precise species type of, but Agaricus are common in the pastures this time of the year.
unbelieveable field too. in Sarasota county Florida. that place was layered head to toe with cow sh.t.
today i had permission to be on the land because i am working as a Surveyor, and we often get to be in pasturelands and all sorts of terrain.. and the guys in my crew are all cool about the mushrooms. so it works out good.
one month from now that field is going to be seriously loaded with Psilocybe cubensis and Copelandia cyanescens. and i will be there to witness the spectical
early in the morning there has been dew on the ground, and that dew is initiating the mycelium in the cow patties to start growing and the mushrooms will be here soon.
'just a heads up for anyone interested, gear up, the sShrooms will be here in one month!

Hint for all those who keep asking, "is it time yet" or some variant - here's your answer, at least for Florida.
Keep 'em coming, GG.
Happy mushrooming!

thanks for the update GG.
I didn't know there were fields to be had in that area, but I've only been in the actual city of Sarasota.
slight chance of rain this weekend, i may head out to check on things myself.

Go east of sarasota, you would quickly realize that theres a shit-ton of pastureland out there (east of the interstate).

the finest shroom fields i have ever been in were in what is now the town of Lakewood Ranch, and that is in Manatee county. those fields are all gone now and i swear not too many people knew about those fields. i was basically the only one who picked there, with the exception of a few friends i took out there.. almost always picking in the daytime, it was great
The Lakewood Ranch fields are all gone now and houses were built over those sacred grounds.
This year i think i might concentrate on the Venice area, which is in sarasota county.. eastern-venice is loaded with great fields for Shrooms, hidden away ones, parking spots included.
anyways, it was nice and foggy and dewy this morning and hopefully it will be foggy again tommorrow morning.
keep shroomin GG

ive had a few successful hunts in south louisiana so far. id bet that if you looked through a few more fields, youll find the gold if you really need it.
but as you said in your first post, its starting to look real good. this season will be a good one.
