How often should I "water" the perlite?

I have basically a poor man's terrarium with perlite on the bottom. The cakes are sitting on the perlite. How often should I dampen the perlite and how should I go about doing it?

You wont need to water it. It stays moist for a while. If it does go dry for some reason, you just should take a spray bottle and spray it down with h2o2 water.

you shouldn't need to add water ... If its been in there that long i would suggest changing it ... Also it always seemed to work better to only have the bottom layer wet and a completly dry top layer .. Then you can set cake directly on it ... My favorite is 1 " of water and 2" of pealite ....
