You should really read the Magic Mushroom Growers Guide...(MMGG for short). Its found under growing ---> p. cubensis

Read it. Think about it. Then Read again 2 more times. Then go to the FAQ's on questions you might have. Research your little soul out on the internet and then post questions...

First off, there is NO baking. The term "cake" is when the mycelium has completely colonized your substrate...(verm/brown rice flour). Pressure cooking is to sterlize your verm and flour in water after they are in the jars.

You dont need a pressure cooker, just get a steamer and a big pot and boil your jars for 2 hours

Tell you what dude,

You just need a big ass pot, put your jars in it, and fill it with water half-way up the jar. Let it boil for about an hour....and let those jars cool!!!!! good luck! I am also a newbie, and I recomend doing what I did I read every post for two months.....than I read 70 pages worth of archives.

Well..
You have to make sure the jars aren't resting DIRECTLY on the bottom of the pot. Get a steamer, or put a washcloth in there.
Secondly, dont fill the water up half way, because the bubbles from the boil will splash up and could be absorbed by the lids...Just put in an inch or so of water.

Lastly, you really should sterilze longer than an hour. The temps only reach 212F, and there are bacteria which could stand those temperatures. Do it for at least an hour and a half!

Yeah, make sure you read the experienced guys' posts...Anno for example is someone you want to look up in the archives. He speaks words of wisdom!

Boiling for 2 hours is kinda overkill. One hour should be sufficiant for any flour based substrate.

If you have trouble baking a cake...

Growing shrooms is definitly harder than baking a cake.
It ain't no cakewalk. Takes longer too.

once you harvest your first batch, baking a cake should be a piece of cake

I'll eat to that.

Do you drink moosehead beer?

I do. It's the best. Period.

It just takes one sip to be a convert
