hey, folks! i've been frequenting Shroomery for a long time, religiously picking brains, never wrote a line though. now there's something i could really use some help with...
i have tried growing 3 times in the past, from native species (locally known as goldtops) in new zealand. It's rather different as far as supplies go, for one thing i could not get hold of Lysol and used iso instead as a spray inside the inoculation chamber, which leaks into the main room and nearly made me pass out from inhaling it.
is there anyone here from NZ by any chance?
anyhow. i have constructed a sterile room equipped with a glove box, hoping it will make a difference. spores for inoculation i got sent over, i got mexicana and golden teacher.

i have used organic brown rice for my cakes and a mix of vermiculate, palm block of coco coir and ground oyster shell for my casings. it says in the tek that 9 days is all one need for the cakes to be ready for the casing; my ones took 3 weeks and i had to remove some rice which has not been covered by mycelium. may be it has to do with the tap water i used for cooking rice, i don't know. five dayz ago i have deposited my casings into the terrarium:

here's a tricky part where i stumbled last time: humidity and air. last time i had the same set up and my casing took too long to pin and got taken over by contamination. can anyone tell if i'm doing something wrong so far - is this effort going to bring fruition or failure? what does it look to you like? you see, i never passed this stage of fruiting and i'm very anxious to find out if it looks ok to you folks.

i got perlite on the bottom and an air stone sitting in a glass of water. there are water droplets forming on the inside of the casing containers. is it ok or is it not supposed to happen?
thanks in advance for any comments you may have!

Welcome to the shroomery man!
If you're new to growing casings you should read this.
A pinning strategy written by hyphae. This tutorial will show you how to get the most out of your casings
