I noticed on Trip Reports that people tend to have bad trips more often when they eat larger amounts.

Any idea? I usually split an 8th and leave it at that.

trips are all about set and setting, i guess at higher doses you might be scared easier, i personally have never had anything close to a bad trip while by myself, but i always trip when in a good mood, put some nice music (pink floyd or bob marley), and just chill in a dark room, but itz different for everyone

My experience is that the higher doses tap the unconscious more and shut down the conscious minds ability to say whoaa I have to stop thinking about this. The unconscious is the stuff that those childhood fever induced nightmares are made of.....

Of course set and setting are major factors but dosage is also plays a key role in ones' experience with a psychedelic. I feel that higher doses a lot of times are just more intense and therefore can be more difficult to handle for some.

High doses don't cause bad trips but because the intensity of the experience goes up so does the potential for the user to feel uncomfortable or scared.
