Hi everyone. This is my first post on this list I came here from another club list of mostly culinary mushroom hunters. Like many of the club members I can probably recognize and rattle off over 300 mushrooms by family, genus, species and common name. I would like to know how anonymous this forum is for one thing. As you may know some people might have a few sensitive and possibly illegal activities that they would not like to disclose to the whole world. I have just set up a new lab that I hope to cultivate mostly Oyster mushrooms. I do not waste time pastuerizing my bulk substrates. I have been very successful cultivating Psilocybe cubensis in the past. I would make cased cakes of grain spawn and set them outside between rows of corn on wheat straw. As the mushrooms came up I would mulch tent them with more shredded fresh straw. The whole garden would get a fine mist about 6 times a day in the hot northern California sun. I would get huge yields of frisbee size caps with mind blowing potency. All this was about 15 years ago now. If anyone would like more details about my outdoor cultivation methods and indoor spawn production then I am happy to write. I would use sterile technique in my kitchen to make the cakes but the straw was just soaked, leached and unpastuerized. My contamination rate in my funky dirty little house was less than 1%. I am a very proficient spawn producer. As you know, the ingestion of Psilocybe is not habit forming but highly illegal. I found out that growing something that was not habit forming was not worth the paranoia when the people I supplied would only use once or twice a year. It seems that something that makes your smile muscles sore and laughing muscles ache should not be subject to the most cruel and draconian laws. I am not much of an internet chatter. I like to get to the point as quick as possible. I am an atheist and do not believe in anything remotely spiritual. I met a lot of people that liked Psilocybe back then and a lot of them were "spiritual". I do like the Dead and saw them many times but did not join the cult. I was a hippy back in the 60s but now I am just a very liberal human. I was stoned for about 35 years but finally quit marijuana about five years ago. I still love it and it was hard to quit but I have more dreams when I sleep now and I don't cough unless I have a cold.

Welcome to the shroomery!
Your growing technique sounds interesting. I'm sure the cultivation forums would love to hear about it.
I think you'll find this community to your liking. There are many shroomerites who are intrested in edibles and, we have our fair share of straight minded antheists.
As far as privacy goes, it is an online community and most people arent too worried about privacy as an issue. Ofcourse you only have to reveil as much as your comfortable with.
Enjoy your stay at the shroomery, you may find it hard to leave.

Welcome. You sound like the kind of person who could contribute a lot of things to this place. Your techniques sound interesting and certainly there would be many who would like to hear about them in the mushroom cultivation forums. You may even have some things to add to the advanced mycology forums with your experience. And check out the Gourmet and Medicinal forums for discussion on non-psychoactive edibles.
But you picked the right spot for introductions. The Pub is a relaxed place and all are welcome here. So welcome to the Shroomery and enjoy, theres lots of good info and good people here.
