Grain Jars Doin Great!

Hi all,
I got some grain jars about a week ago and they are just flying. The myc is going through it like nothing. My question is with jars that are going really good is it worth shaking them or should I just leave them. Just wondering what people thought.

25-30% imo
But, like stated before, everyone does it at different times.

I would agree with around 30%. You "got" them? From where?

I usually shake two or three times. First time after I see germination in multiple spots. Second time at around 40%. Third time if there is any spot which isn't colonized or close to an area that is. I have never had any problems with stalling.

i have two stalled jars. one of PESA and one of TAS. I am thinking about using the colonized portions for G2G. When I open the jars I'll give it a whiff...I dont think they're contaminated, though.

I got the jars from the mycoshack and the spores from sporeworks.

WOW!!!Just checked them and 2 jars are about 80-85 percent done now. I think its too late to shake but if I did how hard do you shake them cuz I kindof like moved one around and saw that it was like a really big clump already. How do yoy break up the big clumps without opening the jar or is it not that imparative to break big clumps. Thanks again for helpin a newB out!!

It's not that important. If it's so well colonized that it won't even break up easily you are best to just let it finish colonize without shaking. It isn't that important, it will just take longer.

I think you should still shake them. It is not too late. It won't harm them and any spots that are not colonized will be mixed in. If the grain was done right then there should not be clumps and the grains should break up into individual kernels. If you wait too long then the mycelium may grow very thick and it may clump in spite of the grain being done right. The problems you may have if you don't shake is uncolonized spots that are easily contaminated when you finally open the cultures.
