mushrooms never cease to amaze me...

Long story short Im going to be moving a lot sooner than expected and had already started a quart jar of WBS. If I was to allow it to fully colonize I wouldnt have had time for casing. I decided I would do an experiment and case my only 45-50% colonized WBS jar. Using only an alcohol sterlized plastic spoon and some Oust spray for the room I carefully opened the jar and took out the most colonized parts of the substrate and put them in a baggie. Crumbled it up and cased it with straight verm. Being that I am almost sure I would get contams I didnt want to waste any good stuff for the casing. Wrapped up with foil and placed back in the incubator. 2 days later to my surprise I have an almost completely colonized top layer and contam free! I put the casing in my terrarium and so far so good. I have knots forming already and still no sign of contams! I never expected this to work. I will post pics of any final yields if i get any!
