air exchange in incubation stage?
    #5523772 - 04/17/06 08:34 AM (17 years, 9 months ago)

Hey guyz,
I am using PF - tek and just wanted to know if the lids should be loose for air exchange. Somehow the colonizing is taking so long! So thought they need air exchange! Its been about 10 days and there is actually no abvious sign of clonization!

Gas exchange is important to colonizing jars, but colonizing is the key word there. If there's nothing growing, there's nothing needing gas exchange just yet. Loosening your lid won't hurt, but its doubtful it will help.

Something else is wrong. There's a chance you've got some "late bloomers" that are taking a little while to germinate, but if you don't see anything very soon you unfortunately probably won't see anything.

creamcorn thanks for the fast reply! The story is that first time I tried it 2 months ago and after 10 12 days didnt get any results so I again about 10 days ago and still waiting!

I did loose the lids a lil 3 4 days ago and can see a LIL difference. But its far far away from what I see on this forum. most of the pics showing a proper white thing after 4 5 days while my substrate got a lil more fuzzy after 10 days! Ill wait 4 5 more days and if it didnt work Ill try diff ways.

I have used the last cc on a perti dish to see if the syringe is ok! cause cant see any spore in it at all! and got some results after 2 days but not in a good shape! i am not sure if it is the syringe! but will wait and will send some pics soon!

i had the same problem with my first grow, turns out i packed the jars with too much substrate. it took a little over month to colonize! and
another to fruit but it finally did, good ol B+. if the jars are to compact all you can do i wait.

yeah that sounds to be a right reason! well those 2 times I used the same recipe and i tried to put all the substrate in the jars! as it was a recipe for 4 jars so though i should put all! Although i knew i shouldnt have pushed them!

So tell me wut recipe you use! can you take a close picture and show me how packed it is?
