WOW....six years myself playing with DCI (Cavaliers)and I never have seen such a young talent playin drums like that!
-------------------- "I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me." "Strange memories on this nervous night in Las Vegas. Five years later? Six? It seems like a lifetime, or at least a main era - -the kind of peak that never comes again. San Francisco in the middle sixties was a very special time and place to be a part of. Maybe it meant something. Maybe not, in the long run, but no explanation, no mix of words or music or memories can touch that sense of knowing that you were there and alive in that corner of time and the world. Whatever it meant." Hunter S. Thompson.

did you watch all the way to the end? The groove he had going before his final outro was just fucking sick. My buddy's been playing drums for 10 years now and he's nowhere near as good as this kid is. Ive tried playing a trap set myself and i found out how much stamina you need to keep playing for a long while. Fuck the foot i was using for the kick drum was getting tired after like a minute of playing.

damn dude, the cavaliers are bad ass! i was in madison for the 2002 dci finals. thanks for the clip! i've had this, been one of my favorites for a long time. playing set for 9 years now, and still can't pull of some of what he is doing.
some people are just born with it, and they are bastards!

I've seen this video a few times before. I hate to burn on a 12-year-old kid, but all he does is hit the drums on beat. There is no feel behind it.

my favourit drummer is Terry Bozzio... this is a taste off of his solo album drawing the circle (although i like his playing much better in Bozzio-Levin & Stevens (Black Light Syndrom)

Haha, that video used to be on the "mag rack" section of my digital cable. It was a video to show drummers how to groove with a bass player. There's about 15 minutes or so before what is seen here where they do more talking and explaining.
